CPU temps really don't have much influence on stability unless they become obnoxiously high. Unless you are regularly getting BSODs and the like your CPU temp is not much of a factor.

Mmmm, since when did FFXI use AO? AO wasn't supposed to be usable in realtime rendering until the development of SSAO for Crysis in 2007.

I run on less than max settings, because I like max fps at all times. I have noticed that a huge difference was made when I installed a solid state drive and put the game on that. But dual gtx580's in SLI with nvidia surround has allowed me to play at 5760x1920 at draw quality 8, everything else max, 16x AA, AO and DoF off. But my cards are screaming at that point. Still it looks damned good.
