    hardware?!?!?

WTF what kinda friggen hardware does it take to run this game at more than just low to medium graphics.... i got a monster of a computer and i still can't run at even close to max settings

    AMD Phenom II X6 1100T
ATI HD 6970 x 2 in crossfire mode
8 Gb DDR3 Dominator Gaming ram
    Sabertooth 990FX motherboard
    Raptor hardrive 150gigs

only thing I've not done is liquid cool (yet, but will soon, then I'll over cloak =D)
so what kinda hardware does one need to run at max graphical settings...

Do you have Ambient Occlusion turned on?
What's your Quality setting? (Hint set it to 8).

    um, I have an:
    AMD Phenom II X4
    AMD Radeon HD6770
    4 GB DDR3 memory
    generic 500 gb HD

I run everything at max settings so I dont know what you problem is (I dont have DoF and AO on, also if you're trying to take general drawing quality above standard you're doing it wrong)

You have a monster computer with a Crossfire setup and you don't what Ambient Occlusion does...?

Monster computer doesn't equal high computer (graphics) knowledge. My brothers have no idea about all those features too, simply cause i'm the one maintaining all the systems. All they know is that their PCs can run games at setting I set up for them without lagging :P

AO uses a LOT of resources, but they are supposed to be optimizing it with the new engine. Ambient Occlusion adds more depth to shadows and lighting (or something close to that) and Depth of Field makes distant object blurry and they become more clear as you get closer.

Yeah, they screwed up AO in this game, so it will bog down every GPU you throw at it. I also remember something about ATI cards having more problems with it than nVidia (something about shadows being rendered incorrectly) so you're better off turning it off.
