    Purchasing Incorrect Item

Hey, just had my first purchase incorrect item incident. I got the healer instead of caster chest piece.

Not a huge deal, I got in contact with a GM and went back and forth and discarded by chest piece and they are supposedly mailing me a new one. At the end of support they suggested I place some feedback here.

Well first, about the support - Overall, it's kind of meh. I mean my needs were met, but it was slow and a bit obnoxious. I am not sure why I need to tell you my world/name when contacting support while logged in. I find that I need to discard the chest piece and have a new one mailed a bit weird, but I guess it works. Most specifically, I really dislike that you get only 1 of these fixes per lifetime of your account.

I think a better solution to this problem would be to take WoW's approach. In WoW, after you purchase an item, you have like ~1 hour to trade it back for a full refund. It would be great if FFXIV added this, as it's a pretty silly mistake and will be pretty frustrating if it happens again.

I see that brought up a lot. I've always chalked this one up to the GMs not existing on any particular server so if you include your world name where they can easily see it, they could do something like /tell Kaurie Lorhart@Brynhildr or something to that effect with ease.

I don't know the real reason, but that was my conclusion. Making their jobs a little easier.

For sure, it just seems weird that this information is not automatically tagged to my ticket when I submit it. Seems weird, as I am already logged in.

to be fair when they service you they are actually right beside you on your server using GM mode which makes them invisible. If you ask them nicely to show themselves they usually will.

    That is an amazing screenshot.

The one time I directly dealt with a GM, I was in WoD as MT. When I didn't immediately respond to the tell they sent me, cuz holy crap I'm main tanking Cloud of Darkness, they told me that they could communicate with /tell under special circumstances.

So, I think Canadane is on the mark.

I wish I could remember that GM's name! They were so nice!
