Thought while at work... Memorial Stones

I don't know if I only speak for my own FC or even a small fraction of the playerbase, but I know several FC who have lost people to members passing away, and some have even held ingame memoriums for the fallen. This is just a small request as a way to remember the fallen and those who can no longer be by our sides. Just a yard furnishing, can be something as simple as a stone tablet we can edit the writing on, where the writing appears in Eorzean, or even just a stone to click and be able to read, able to list the names of the ones you write on it. It is not a groundbreaking idea, but a small one that could have a big impact on those of us who don't want to forget the ones who we called friends and family, who will no longer be with us. Please, devs, at least give this a small thought. It is just a humble, tiny request from one person, possibly speaking with the voices of those who haven't found the right way to ask for this same idea.

That's incredibly heartwarming and respectful.

Since we may never be able to pay proper respects to fallen friends met in the game outside the game, a memorial item would be a alternative for us to show our love for them and jointly mourn.

It's no comparison, but even a digital note of "We miss you." can make a huge difference.

More than just the concept of memorial stone, this probably has a lot more weight for such an item. Definitely behind the idea. Given we can type out our own messages for the placard, I don't think the devs have much room to argue for inappropriate messages being a big problem. I doubt text logs are going to be a significant burden on the servers neither.

Yes, please. I set up a grave marker in my garden using an unbreakable rock and some blood blossoms. It's on the left in the image below. Having something to write on would help.

This would be a great addition. While I would never hope for any FC or any player to lose any member/friend like this, being able to pay respects, even digitally, is an incredibly beautiful thing.

We literally lost a very important member of our FC recently. Currently have him placed in his own rank within the FC as a way of remembering him but it would be awesome to have something like this!

That is really a thoughtful thing to do, and such a furnishing would have other applications as well in RP where people can make memorials for fallen RP characters.

If they refuse the customizable furnishing, I would like to motion for a special graveyard or Mausoleum as a zone in game that people can travel to where people can request a little memorial for their fallen friends.
