I love it when people say this about Arum Vale, it's one of my favorite dungeons because I don't find it difficult at all, so the contrast amuses me. AV is straightforward, as long as you know what you are doing, and by level 47-50, you should be there.Aurum Vale difficulty would be great. I still think it's one of the most challenging dungeons that no other dungeon quite matches. I do think a careful balance must be struck between difficult and tedious: one of the first L60 dungeons, the one with the Gundu? I find that one tedious, but not difficult.
I personally know someone in my Free Company who does not have any rank with their GC because they simply refuse to do AV.
That's just sad, a group of your FC buddies should take them through it, it's not that long, and it demolishes the difficulty myth when you do it well. I'm talking about running AV with level sync, not an undersized party and/or unsync'd. The challenge is fun, and beating it is sweeter for the knowledge that you did it sync'd.
I liked the original (pre-nerf ARR) Pharos Sirius as well, the most unpleasant part of it was that moment when you realize one of the DDs isn't paying attention to the mechanics and repeat wiping the party instead of listening.

Hey, I'm all for a bracing level synced AV every now and then to clear out the pipes, but if someone's spent this long into the game refusing to do it once and missing out on all the perks that come with GC 2LT, well... best to just unsync and get it over with, like ripping off a Band-Aid![]()

Same. I really have no idea why people hate it unless they have PTSD from speed running it pre-ARR. It's one of few dungeons that actually do damage so you can actually heal. Satasha-Dzamael is snorefest.
I don't think it's necessarily difficult as in, hard to do. It is challenging, though; you do have to keep on your toes and can't just go braindead the dungeon. I don't find any content particularly difficult once you get the hang of routines (and let me tell you I love my routines), but it's a dungeon where you can't continuously fuck up and still get through effortlessly, unlike Gooball Library Hard.
