    Possible way of implementing romancing NPCs | <SLIGHT SPOILER FOR PATCH 3.4>

    WARNING POTENTIAL SPOILERS FOR MSQ FOR PATCH 3.4!!!!

    Right so I was playing through the new additions to the story (Patch 3.4) and I thought of a simple way that devs could implement the option to romancing NPCs.

    Romance could be started by being linked into the story, with Aymeric re-asking you what you want. You are confronted with multiple options, with one of the options being "Love". This could then lead into a question of who? which could then be answered with NPC options. This should not really affect the story as NPCs could be romanced separate from the story as a secret.

    The romance quest could be the NPC giving the player a map for where they want to meet them for a date. Upon finding the location and using 'dig' a chest/item would appear for the player to interact with to go into a cutscene.

    Romancing could be similar to Wondrous Tales in regards of style where the NPC you choose to romance can be talked to weekly to receive a romance quest that would require random tasks.ect

    Choosing Aymeric as a love interest could debatable affect the story but Aymeric seems fond of you anyway so it wouldn't really affect anything as romancing is something of a private event.

    The romance system could also work like Beast Tribes with ranking. Hitting certain ranks in the romance could result in random rewards after dates have ended.

    Thanks for reading if anyone manages to get through this xD Let me know what you guys think as this idea is supposed to be something that is do-able/practical and could be fun for players ^^

    Oh that would be like swtor. The romance with the companions don't affect the main syory, but they Re like side quests and ms could be reflected in the companions story

    I like the idea, it could work as side quests similar to hildibrand quests. Not sure how it would be for eternal bonded players. I believe the strongest romance happens between npcs, maybe SE could introduced a side quest that is related between a couple prior or post marriage.

    Yeah I have been trying to think of a way it would work regarding players who have been eternal bonded. The only thing I can think of is that if the players choose to go for an NPC romance, then they lose the eternal bonding ring and is replaced with a friendship ring, which would work the same as the eternal bonding ring.

    There could also be a specific NPC those players have to talk to to have their rings changed from eternal bonded to friendship and vice versa. I know there are people who spend money for the ceremonial binding ceremonies (me included) and I think this idea would mean that the players would still benefit from what they paid for.
