I think that would be a pretty great idea. Benediction is already iconic for being the omega heal, but giving it TP/MP utility especially, gives it so many options.
Imagine Ben-ing a war during a trash pack, keeping you DPSing and his low TP refreshed or Ben-ing yourself to keep up after 3 raises or even more so on your cohealer who just died and desperately needs an mp pick me up.
It would be balanced by its own utility and it's 5 minute CD. It would definitely close the gap between the Iconic ability of the other "simple" job of paladin's hallowed ground or SCHs MP management.
It also gives WHM a chance to off heal, by giving a much needed MP option in Noct AST + WHM comps.

That would actually be a really cool idea. It would also help for casual players a lot since WHM is currently the worst healer when being picked up off the floor.
If so, benediction needs to be a one hour CD. Haha seriously why not but only under some conditions... Like only if the target is under 50% HP, then yes it will also give back his MP.
Even if whm is a pure healer, he needs to get a tactical gameplay ^^
yeah ast is just in the good hot seat atm, we all know theyre probably just spotting it off till 4.0 at this rate, personally i feel like it could have been fine from the begining even with lower potencies, if it could switch stances(stack regens and shields) on a medium cool down or something, freeky in battle. Well the enmity buff with lumineferous was well needed as well(turns out machine gunning lower potency heals brings alot of enmity with it)
but i digress. For the hopeful healers, this could be a good sign they shifted the attention on ast, probably gonna introduce a new healer cause of this bizarre decision to shift ast to one side and not try to make it good on both sides.
on a side note i dont think losing proshell was bad, but graniteskin could have remained personally, itd give whm a sort of edge on the only shielding they can do besides untraited E4E, btw whm dont forget, ast doesnt have access to that or virus at all.

I think the devs were right about Graniteskin personally. The issue is that the replacement trait was just garbage, they should have buffed something else.
I'm loving the Benediction idea. You can only really use it once or twice in a fight anyway, so it'd hardly be broken. And it would add a bit more skill to the ability other than *use it on someone dying and watch them die because lol animations.*
Personally I would have loved for healers to get some utility removed and for SE to actually make BRD and MCH less DPS oriented and give them pretty much all of the support moves. But I feel like it's a little too late and they'll never put in that much work to add a fourth role.

Easy fix for white Mage is to simply buff their heals to the same potency as ast, and give their cleric stance a trait so that it transforms x% damage into a heal for the target with the lowest HP. And yes I know whm would have more potency thanks to mind raid bonus so just make ast bonus based on stance and voila problem fixed. Whm has their unique utility DPS while ast has their cards
