If they did do that who decides how many more instanced rooms they can have? Cause you know what ever number SE chooses there will be people unhappy with it and think that should be a higher number.

We got ripped off for getting a FC-sized room for 500k.
We SHOULD have gotten apartments that look like the Barracks. That would have been perfect and bonus for the cool loft area.
But, isn't it, like, six-million gil to buy a small land plot or something really close to that price? And, even if you include what player's have to pay for an FC room: the residency is permanent, further within most of the player-base's budgets, and way more available to players because it isn't linked to the FC house. They're apartments. Not penthouse suites. We have what we payed for them, and it's a really great size. It's just some of the other stuff hurts it across all housing types, which I've stated earlier, and I don't feel like re-typing it.
They just need to make more smaller scale items like brass/legged bathtubs, pictures, beds, stoves, bookshelves, et cetera for apartment and increase the item limit globally. Seriously. Like, what else could that oversized kettle on the manor stove be used for besides heating up bath water...

Actually the room size and shape being just like the barracks room is a really good idea. Still small but slightly larger and a unique look.
They went as low budget as they could with the apartments...did you expect anything more? This game is unfortunately instance/group-focused. I use mine for extra deco storage..better than paying them for an extra retainer every month.

I think it's bigger than my current apartment.....

Imo apartments should've been at least a little bigger. Have like a loft or something in them to make them seem bigger. SOMETHING. With fc rooms, people have access to much more than people with apartments. Chocobo stables, mail boxes, more space for gardening, vendors, fc chest, workshop, etc. I do not feel apartments not being subject to auto demolition is enough to up the price to 200k more than an fc room, when you potentially have more access to stuff with an fc room. There should've been SOMETHING to make apartments more unique than fc rooms for it to cost 500k.

Apartments have stables and can get vendors and chests just like FC rooms. The lack of mailboxes is a known issue which I hope they correct soon but aside from that, the only things that FC rooms have that apartments don't are the workshop (which is exclusive to FCs anyway- private homes of any size don't get them either) and full sized gardens. So really, the only things that apartment owners miss out on are mailboxes (which, again, I agree needs fixed) and cross-breeding plants.Chocobo stables, mail boxes, more space for gardening, vendors, fc chest, workshop, etc. I do not feel apartments not being subject to auto demolition is enough to up the price to 200k more than an fc room, when you potentially have more access to stuff with an fc room.
Of course more space and a higher item limit would have been nice, but a permanent room that you can not be kicked out of with all the aforementioned perks for a measly 500k is not as wretched a deal as a lot of people seem to think. For the security alone of never needing to worry about losing all my stuff should I stop playing for a time or part ways with my FC, I would shell out the extra 200k difference and do it with a smile on my face.
