    An open letter to the creator of the primal battles.

    Well seeing how i just spent the afternoon losing to ifrit.

    I thought i would voice my opinion on something while the rage is still in a nice tempered state. Not so much about that fight but geared more twards the upcoming moogle battle and all big fights past that point.

    In the form of a statement directed at the evil genius behind these fights.

    I would like to start out by thanking you for the fun and even some of the frustration your recent work on the hard mode Ifrit battle brought. But me and you, we need to have a little chat. First off i want to say i know none of this is your fault. you are just doing your job trying to make us happy, and that's cool.

    But the next time you dish out some really hard stuff for us could you please keep in mind that there are pretty massive issues with latency and the servers updating the position of characters vs the monsters?

    I want to show you what some of us are up against.



    I know the ifrit fight inside and out, yet i have never fished this fight standing. Due to the simple fact of whats shown in the above screen shot. It becomes beyond frustrating and i have just given up trying.

    I really look forward to experiencing your work in the moogle battle. But i do have to say if it's main form of difficulty is dodging damage zones such as in the ifrit battle I'm going to have to pass. We players are facing some harsh challenges simply from the latency. Please keep that in mind while you are formulating your next fight. At least until the problems were facing are brought down to something reasonable.

    Before some one asks in the picture i started running backwards the second Ifrit pooped out the web of doom. I was half way across the area when i was hit. According to the others in the party my character was standing in the big middle of it like a goofus the whole time. I know this is nothing new, every body is dealing with it in some shape or form.

    I just wanted to post a thread about them toning down some of the stuff that is causing us big problems untill the new magic server structure comes and solves the issues.

    The Dark Moogle fight is supposed to involve multiple enemies of different classes, so hopefully they can keep us busy without having to dodge timed AoEs like that.

    the dev guy who made this battle said he was upset that it was defeated within 4 days and that people were using a specific tactic which upset him even more.

    i havent fought Ifrit yet, but what tactic is he talking about? why would using that tactic be upsetting? why didnt the devs see such tactic before hand?

    asking honestly.

    Thanks for choosing a pic that didnt show me dead griss

    but yeah this is a huge problem personnaly I have a hard time dodging them because of this very issue, it needs looking at and future fights before 2.0 need to have this latency in mind when designing them.

    This is as far as I read. If you know this fight inside and out, how have you never finished it alive?

    I live in North America, so I suffer the same latency issues as everyone else here. If I don't move fast enough, I take damage from plumes/cracks, even if I'm not standing in them on my screen. However.. it's still very rare that get hit with them.

    The fight requires patience, proper ability timing, and quick reflexes. Once you have all 3 of those mastered, the fight is a joke. If you pay attention and time everything correctly you can do multiple fights in a row without ever taking any damage from these 2 abilities. These are all good aspects of the fight, and I'd like to see them remain in future fights.

    The latency issue won't be resolved until 2.0 afaik. I'd rather not have watered down content till that time just because someone can't react fast enough to something displayed on their screen, even if latency shortens the time needed to respond.

    Apparently throwing a CNJ and 7 LNC. I'd be mad too if an easy zerg like that worked. There was a Youtube vid of this floating around somewhere here but I never looked at it myself.

    You should resize those icons, the MRD one should be bigger than the GLA one since it is the preferred tank. (:

    Lancers and Marauders are high in the priority list because Twisting Vice from LNC and something else from MRD can break Ifrit's horns.

    Except its not an isolated incident, its happening widely and all that can be done is for the devs to make content that is harder in other aspects rather than timing, I talk to a friend on skype in this fight and 3-4 secs after I have moved they see me moving, so its not griss' fault.

    Btw not everyone that posts on here is in NA, this is an english forum not a NA forum, please learn that not everyone that speaks english is from NA.
