During the new 3.4 storyline, we finally get more acquainted with the Warriors of Darkness. One thing I noticed was that
J'rhoomale is referred to both by dialogue and NPCs as the Ranger of Darkness.
At first it was strange to me that she'd be referred to as a Ranger as opposed to something Bard related (Ministrel, Poet, etc), especially since all other Warriors of Darkness are referred to with titles that directly correspond to their job (Knight is the JP name for Paladin, Devout and Magus are direct upgrades from White and Black Mage mage, and Arbert is flat out referred to as a Warrior). During the
instanced fight with the Warriors of Darkness, J'rhoomale doesn't use any songs or song-related abilities outside of The Wanderer's Minuet (and this isn't as much a 'song' as it is a necessity to attack properly as a Bard)
But this got me thinking...what if all this was intentional?
I could be making this up, but I remember reading somewhere that this year's Moonfire Faire had a small hint about an upcoming job. And what could be more overt than the fact that we are assisting the Posing Rangers (though I'll concede that this isn't exactly meant to be taken as the Bow-wielding Ranger).
Could this be a sign that Ranger is a potential new job? What would this mean for Bards? Someone pass the tinfoil hat!
