I found a12 pretty easy on WHM and that's was with 2 of the dps constantly dieing to mechs, it never felt like it was close to a wipe if anything its the easiest of the 4 fights.

Lord no! Normal modes are enough of a pushover already. There should be some challenge in content outside extremes and savage.
Steps of Faith was nerfed because it gated off the expansion and people were intentionally dropping out of it trial. Basically, Square panicked at the possibility new or returning players wouldn't be able to unlock Heavensward. A better example would be Pharos Sirius. Nonetheless, we more recently saw demanding for nerfs on Final Steps of Faith and Weeping City, which the devs flat out said would not happen. People eventually get better if you push the accordingly. Slight curves in difficulty are how you can build a midcore for your game. Another stickler to Steps of Faith is veteran players who cleared it had no reason to stick around. You didn't get anything. Weeping City forced patience because of the rewards.Hmm, I'm torn. I don't feel like having to yell at or wait until my healers learn to play for 30 minutes everytime I queue with new ones for the fight, considering it's just not the case for the rest of them. (With some frequency, as in my experience the most under-par players are either DPS or Heals, and your heals CAN'T be under-par for this fight)
I don't see arguing for difficulty in normal mode to be worth it. It's meant to be facerool. And the precedent with difficult fights in the story/normal modes is they will get nerfed to oblivion in time. (Steps of Faith anyone?)

That doesn't mean normal should be a complete joke. Asking you to play a little above "click three buttons" isn't asking much. Besides, this is week one. We'll be so laughably overgeared soon enough, it won't be an issue.

So much this. Savage is on the complete other end of the spectrum. Not like Alex is required.
My only gripe is, from what I've seen, is weakness or brink of death can cause a prey to be an insta kill. Had a run where he LOVED me and I ate some floor. Maybe a small tuning there or something, otherwise the fight is a perfect mix of difficult but not "omgwhatsgoingonholdme".
THIS. It is an MMO, with a community... network. Or, I saw you have a DRG... there are a few WONDERFUL guides that can take any rookie to a decent dragoon. The game gives you the tools, but after 50/60 the training wheels come off.

if they make it any easier they should remove the loot. Then every1 will want it to go back 2 the way it was where u beat it and actually EARNED the loot. Bottom line is u just want gear without having to actually work 4 it, if u where actually worried about it being a story thing you'd realize it doesn't matter cause u would only run it once and ur done in which the slight bit of difficulty wouldn't matter cause u can always find ppl in the pf to help if ur afraid of the df.
