I love this game to death but honestly, it's boring. And that's because 90% of this game is lacking in challenge. I don't want to get a victory without even trying. I don't want the FINALE to be easy. I want it to be an epic battle that makes me feel like I'm actually fighting a powerful foe. I want the excitement that comes when you manage to pull it off right, and the sense of satisfaction you get when you manage to clear it.

Wanting it to be face roll so you can enjoy the story? It's a freaking game. If you don't want to "play" it, watch it on youtube. But God people, stop asking for things to be nerfed or made easier.. you're ruining this game. -.-
For what it's worth. I highly recommend jumping into Savage this go around. With it being scaled down closer to a midcore level than Gordias or Midas, you might just find it much more appealing. Anywho, I agree. Frankly, I'd like to see all bits of content see a spike in difficulty. Nothing ridiculous, of course. But it irks me a little our two new dungeons, for instance, are a paltry ilvl 210. Within the month, we'll be nearly 50 levels ahead of them. Making both ilvl 230 would have made it a far more comfortable challenge for 3.4's duration. Alexander Normal sort of suffers in the same way.

The problem doesn't lie with the difficulty, as i'd love to adapt to that and learn the fights. Like I've said before, I get a rush when the party pulls things off correctly, and I love the feeling of satisfaction when you finally clear difficult content. It took me and my friends probably three weeks to actually beat Titan Extreme (we pugged it.. getting a pug group to position correctly isnt the easiest thing xD) But i had fun every single time, even though we lost/timed out for three weeks.

The reason i stray away from savage, is because I have no way to get a static together to practice it. I work overnight while all my friends don't, so they're all sleeping when I'm free to play. Add that to my random work schedule, and the fact that my fc sortof died on a low population server, I just dont have the resources to get a clear together.

And I'm ok with that. I just want people to stop asking for the things that pose any kind of challenge at all to be nerfed... People whined and complained about Weeping City, but I loved it. (I could literally play void ark with my eyes closed, and we'd be fine. Weeping was a step in the right direction.) People whined and complained about Final Steps of Faith, but I loved it. The difficulty made it FEEL like a final battle. Like all the things we had been working for throughout 3.0 had led us to this one moment.

This is the same thing with Alex. Everything we've done within that giant machine, all the drama with Mide, all the schemes with the goblins, all the time we spent fighting our way through one arm, then the other, slaying goblins and disassembling machines, they all led to this one final showdown.

So please, let it be epic.

It's only the first week. People will eventually learn the mechanics. I did the fight three times, all of them on SCH and when the only thing vomiting out damage was Alexander and not the BLM who refused to move and accept that mechanics were happening, the fight was fine.

I enjoy a little bit of needing to pop Sprint and I enjoy the fact that I need to watch what spells I use to balance MP and aoe healing. People having problem with mechanics is nothing new but for the first week, it will be. Give it another week and people will have more gear and the issue will once again -and as always- be a dps check rather than a healing check.

That being said, I'm surprised no one mentioned Sephirot in terms of raw healing needed. This fight reminds me of Sephirot and Nidhogg where they just love to output massive damage just to make it a healer intensive fight.

Which, btw, is something we don't normally get.

Dont worry guys. If the difficulty of Creator is threatened, I'll just make a "Don't Nerf Alexander: Creator! Petition/Appreciation" Thread.

It helped protect Weeping City. Thank goodness.

I healed it on release day with a DF Group where everyone was new. I didn't notice anything too hard about the healing. It took us 3 pulls to kill him. I thought A11 was harder.

It's the final fight and not everyone has new gear even though you can easily beat it with a ilvl 235 group. Give it time before you ask for nerfs

It only feels intense now because it 's new and most people aren't at ilvl250 yet. Once people gear up, the fights will be easy, just like every other raid before it.

I main a SCH and the first run of A12 normal was really brutal. i was paired with another SCH and the amount of damage going out made it really tough as we both were doing it for the first time. As I did it more and more though, I got to know at which points to use mitigation and when to anticipate huge damage so it became a lot easier. Of course if the DPS are getting hit by avoidable damage then it becomes super tough. Still, I would prefer to be paired with a WHM or D. AST as a SCH/SCH pairing really requires finesse which is a bit difficult when using DF

How about we make it so you don't need to heal at all! or just make a baby mode.

A12N was undertuned IMO, it was easier than A11N. It also didn't have a tenth of the impact that Bahamut Prime had when it was released. Bahamut Prime actually FELT really powerful unlike Alexander Prime.... But at least all the lazy players can beat him without putting any effort into the game.

Yes i know, i can beat savage mode for no reason if i want a challenge. But for me, it just doesn't feel the same.
