with the exception of making a snack/food/toilet ect. hence why i said for like an hour.

and the server can easily detect if your sending messages in chat/ls/shout/tell ect. if you dont move, dont sent a message or use your menu for an hour then you should be removed from the game PERIOD!

so you'd have to log back in, tough. staying logged in while your asleep isnt fair to players in different time zones who are forced to wait because the server is full.

if it was full of people who was actually playing then its a different story, but the server shouldnt have 5/10/15% of its capacity taken up by inactive players.

its a feature in games i appreciate because it means i can actually play in my own timezone.

as for limiting the new character creation on servers which can hit full capacity, the problem with that is you would end up with times of the day/night when the server population is so low that you cant do any of the party required content.
Well FFXI didnt need this feature, people were logged in all day every day and there werent queues, it is a step back for every MMO that uses it, its not needed all they need is enough capacity and bandwidth for everyone, which is easy to do.

No MMO needs this feature they need servers that can serve the amount of users that play. All the servers that have this feature, if every subscriber logged on at once they would blow up cos they cant cope.

We have multiple servers because not everyone can fit on one server for various reasons beyond even just the technical ones. So making them so "everyone can fit on one server" is not easy or really possible.

If not everyone can fit on one server, obviously there is a limited number of people that can comfortably be on the same server. There is no 24/7 hour queue for Mysidia or Selbina. Every once and a while there is a queue because so many new people (and people from other servers) are creating characters on Selbina.

The queue encourages mostly brand new people to go to other servers, for the rest of the people it is a rare minor annoyance. I'd rather have it than lag everytime I go do anything not instanced.
