    log in ques

    this is really fustrating,

playing away minding my own business when i get booted off the server, then when i try toget back on my login que possition is 59.

when you make a character and select a server it should warn you when its at full capacity.

and it DEFINATLY shouldnt kick people off then shove them in a que, kick those people who are just standing there afk for more than an hour to make room for players!

    my point being

the server should take into account players who afk for more than an hour and kick them from the server to make room for players who wish to get on and play.

I'm assuming you mean queues. Two hours and maybe I'll consider it. But how do you determine who's actually afk? What if somebody is just staring at the /sh log, waiting for something interesting? You can't really distinguish between who's afk or not. But I get your frustration, even though I haven't lived it.

movement, chat log entries and menu interaction. if you dont engage in any of these 3 things the server should pick up on you being afk and boot you off after an hour.

as for selling while afk, thats why you have retainers! they're full? tough, wait for something to sell or re-organise your retainer bazaar.

people standing there afk for hours upon hours during prime times forces players into log in queues which wouldnt be needed if people had a little common decency and logged out when not playing.

The server can't differentiate between someone who has no log interaction and someone who's just giving time for responses to what they said, for example if someone /shouts a party in forming or wanting to join, how would the game know the person is just waiting for replies or went afk? Logs are stored on your PC as well as the server, therefore there's always log interaction happening.

Same with movement, how do you know if someone decides to just stand/sit in one spot while /shouting versus someone who went afk?

That's the problem with kicking "afk" people from the game and why no MMO does it by default. FFXI had 10-30 minute threshold settable for when you're booted from game, but sometimes you have to afk for 10 minutes to do something around the house, why should the game kick you then and potentially prevent you from logging back in?

I didn't realize FF14 has log-in queues, or enough players to trigger it o_o
