Ren, your signature pick is broke.
I honest to God thought the old Dragoon died, and felt guilty about laughing at the scenario. XD

I felt they tried a little too hard in this one, honestly.
When you talk to her at some point, she says something like "I bet you're wondering why i'm just sitting back and not doing anything, well it's because i want my son to find his own way to do things without my help"Doris is one of my new favorite NPCs, or I mean the Exceedlingly Experienced Treasure Hunter.
My only complaint is that Julyan is just sort of .... There. I understand her desire to stand back and watch Hildibrand work stuff out himself, but it's just a shame how complacent she's being when compared to Godbert's antics.
Also, Hildi x Nashu confirmed?
or something like that

Yup, I think they really did this time a good job.
The old drg guy, was my favourite here![]()

That was my favorite part. Especially after that scene happened and they started reminiscing about the old man and then a flashback started playing about what happened not even two minutes ago. I lost it. It turned out to be from the ground's perspective, but for that brief second I thought they were really going to use that gag. Then you take his armor and leave him at the mercy of the tentacle monsters.
I loved the new Hildibrand quests (100% better than the school ones). After all the tragedies and death in HW, it is a breath of fresh air to just have some quests that are only a little sad/negative but mostly positive and funny. I also loved that Hildibrand kinda started the idea behind the city. (So are they now truly canon?) The older people were funny too. The only "negative" part was Hildi's Mum. Hopefully she gets a larger part later.
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

I know it's been said Hilibrand wasn't supposed to return for HW and that's why the quests have been so .. lacking.. After finally getting around to doing it tonight I was so happy to see some of the original humor back! Oh my gosh, I haven't laughed so hard since Godbert was introduced. Those poor old people. XD
