Peiste Skin

Hey all, wondering if anyone happens to know if there's a good place to find a group of Pieste-dropping basilisk-type mobs lower than Lv.50? I've been wandering around several different areas for hours without any luck in finding any.

Kinda lame if there aren't any at all, since the skins are a LTW synth between 30-40 now and I've spent nearly all my leves trying to bridge the gap covered by this synth.

Best bet is to do leves at Halatali. Many of them have peiste mobs. I'm pretty sure those are the only ones lower than 50. Big oversight by the dev team IMO.

Yeah. You can find Boars (the synth before Peiste) and Raptors (after Peiste) a-plenty. And unfortunately there's only 6 (I think) from that leve your speaking of. When you need roughly 75 to 150 skins to grind out a level (at the 32-36 range) you can't even call doing that particular leve over and over again farming with the amount of time needed to keep reacquiring it.

Guess I'll use up all my extremely valuable boar leather making deprecated boar straps. ; ;

Are there any crafting leves that reward peiste skin/leather in your level range? I've been stockpiling boar leather by doing the leves that reward it ever since I hit 30. I know some faction leves have it as a reward.

I haven't seen any give Peiste Skin specifically yet, but from what I can surmise from other leves giving skins as rewards: You'll get them about 2 at a time.

Consider I went through over 300 boar hides grinding out LTW from 27-32ish, I'll need that many and more for Peiste skins. lol My whole point here is that there seems to be no free-roaming, level-40ish Peistes to farm, unless someone's keeping their location a closely guarded secret. (I attuned to probably ten new very outlying aetheryte points in the last two days while searching. Got a comprehensive good look at Mor Dhona too! lol)

But try your best to get to level 34, by that level you'll be able to make fleece with one single sheepskin at 750 exp
This is a magic craftsmanship synth which requires guild support, I managed to grind with this once I was able to.

Sheepskin is also sold by NPC south of the LTW guild in the tunnel @ 1k each

Ahh, I only suggested the leves because they seem to do double duty and give you (at least at my level) nice XP and some good hides that I was able to make into leather for good xp and then into finished products at amazing xp. The fleece recipe that was mentioned seems worth looking into until you can make the 40+ boar leather recipes.

Yeah I hit 35 last night using leves. I was approximating the Fleece synth and figured it'd be a good place to start. Tried a couple synths last night without support - no chance (I was out collecting dyes when I randomly gave it a shot). Then tried it with support later on and laughed at the easy 720 I earned. Picked up the Tawing Training needed for the synth too out of the 33k marks I earned from all the leves.

They do give some decent XP when you can get the leves that are actually close to your level. And the new boar leather recipe got me to about Lv.30. I seem to have an aversion to the old recipes for some odd reason. Not sure what the new raptor leather recipe's level is either; if I'm going to blow past it's sweet XP spot doing Fleece. (But I need the Fleece more for weaving)

New boar recipe = L32
New peiste recipe = L41
New raptor recipe = L45

Prior to 1.19, they were all 45 I think.

Fleece is still L44.

On vamps, they now NPC for roughly 10% of what they used to be, (~double digits) so watch your wallet there.
