Our Warrior of Light element is...

So in the scene that we saw in the trailer, we see the Warriors of Darkness each hold a Crystal and call upon its power. Well we saw that full scene during the climactic battle near the end of the 3.4 story. Each Warrior, including us has their own Element.

Warrior - Fire
Bard - Wind
Paladin - Ice
White Mage - Earth
Black Mage - Lightning

now our Element appears to be Water as that was the Crystal our character pulled out, at least mine did. I was wondering if this was the same for everyone, and correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the Water Crystal the first crystal you find regardless of where you start your story, and when our "blessing" was taken from us wasn't it the first crystal restored. Is anyone able to shed some light on this?

Water is the 5th to be restored, in the Gubal Library; think it went Ice [joining with Iceheart in Coerthas], Earth [defeat Ravana], Lightning [kill Nidhogg], Wind [bye Bismark], Water [Gubal], Fire [hello/goodbye Tiamat]

Do agree it is likely the most special one to us, since it was the first we acquired, even though the situation surrounding its acquisition wasn't all that...special. Not compared to ripping it from a Primal's chest while she was still alive and cursing at us, anyway >.> But yeah...we probably have a slight "tip" towards Water just because we've had the Crystal for that much longer.

Could also just be meaningless; not going to discount that they just randomly assigned elements to everyone

Yeah, no matter which city state you start in you'll always get the water crystal 1st.

Blue just happens to be the most iconic crystal color within the franchise even. Our Water Crystal matches it very closely, which is probably why it's the one we always pull out in cutscenes.

I wouldn't be so sure. I find it interesting that we keep mentioning a sea of aether, and that our crystal -the first one we got, at that- is the one for water. Coincidence? I think not.

We have all six crystals. I think we just pulled out the one missing from the WoD's set. Remember, showing Ramuh the Lightning Crystal of Light is part of what convinced him to entrust the Sylph's fate to us.

The Eorzean equivalent of that first episode of Yugi-oh. "Five crystals huh? Nice, watch this."

That sort of thing just makes the story incredibly stale and boring. It just baffles me that so many people seemingly want the Warrior of Light to be better than everybody they come across. It's little wonder there's so little feeling of a threat these days and characters are only at risk of being harmed if it's to make people feel sad like with Ysayle and Haurchefant.

Beatrix is one of the most memorable characters in FFIX because she utterly thrashes the main character's party not once, not twice but three times. I daresay we need more situations like that in FFXIV. I can't be the only one who wants to see the Scions, Warrior of Light and Hydaelyn humbled every now and then, surely? It shouldn't be a temporary thing either - Beatrix was never defeated by the party in FFIX (though she did have a change of heart and align herself with them during the story, therefore negating the need to defeat her utterly).
