i can't really say until the spell is already in game and already tested to be saying anything. so yea, not gonna comment here till' it eventually made it out.
Speculate all ya want. I'll wait for the result and comment.

I trust the new dev team, as i am having fun with the game in its current state. If something like curing was absolutly broken and hate management was really that bad in 1.20 then i dont think they would have came up with scaling moves in the 1st place, but since they did decide on doing this then they must have a valid reason right?
i agree
flexibility enhances strategy.
i feel they are over simplifying the caster classes in a negative way.
15 abilities each? what is this... Kindergarten?A jack of all trades WHM... what is this 1989?
I like the idea of abilites/traits auto leveling for DoW jobs. I.E. no one uses circle slash 1 after they get tier 2, so just do away with the tier. But removing the tiered magic spells and making me cast cure III for 135 mp every time i want to cure is a major drain on mp, and a huge enmity generator. And I would be forced to only cast cure every 6 seconds? In a pt i am not only healing one person, and i do cycle through all my tiered heals, including sacrifice and curaga's. so for me to only be able to heal once every 3 seconds ( 6 second wait for cure, 6 second wait for sacrifice) isn't only going to drain my mp and get enmity faster, I'm going to be a slower healer overall and many pt members will wipe. Costing me more mp cause now i have to raise them as well. I don't foresee taking away tierd magic and having them auto level faring well. So if you do make 1 cure spell, 1 regen spell, and 1 curaga spell, lower the mp consumption, lower the hate levels, and lessen the recast times down to 1~2 seconds each.
I am seriously going to beat you until battle tanks pull us apart.
Hmm. . . CNJ abilities (pulled out of my arse).ok lets put it like this, a mage with one role only needs a few spells, but a mage which is supposed to support DD and survive needs more spells.
im really thinking about CON here, because they have to cure, support, survive and DD. In different system they can choose thier skills, but heres the key, classes are supposed to excel at solo, and most people will level solo from like 1-15 most likely, remember the design of specialisation into partying doesnt come till 30.
So you have a con
you have to design him with support skills that help a team, a lot of which will be less useful when you are solo.
so what are his solo skills? how much more difficult is it going to be to get con from 1-20 with comparitively low offensive skills.
thm just use scourge and banish? but they also used cure/sacrifice stygian spikes spiritsong profundity protect shell stoneskin bloodrite. these were all skills available before level 13. but now, you cant do that low level.
at 13 you can use 2 cross class abilities. what is a new thm going to pick, hes going to have to lose a lot of survivability. Now con might have magic, but with only 15 abilities total? where is the room for it? something has to give.
So now, low level you are highly specialized, when that is the time you will probably need the most versatility.
1. Wall (there's Protect and Shell together)
2. Stoneskin
3. Cure
4. Esuna
5. Holy (astral DD spell)
6. . . .Un-holy? (Umbral DD spell)
7. Soughspeak
8. Raise
9. Sleep
10. . . .
So, yeah, maybe I'm missing something, but that seems to cover the essentials. . .
I really don't get the attitude of "well you don't know that it'll be a problem, wait and see before you complain".
I'd rather people were like OP and raised genuine concerns before a change is implemented. If people raising concerns helps the devs in even just one case then it saves them time in not having to redo something, and it saves us aggravation in using a system that doesn't work as it might.
We don't know it will be a problem but we don't know it won't. Some of us read the information, heard it was half of the information that will be given, and were pleased with what we read. If we like what has been presented to us thus far, why would we have to voice concerns? The fact that there may be concerns in the second half for us, or things in the second half that remedy your concerns, is something to think about.I really don't get the attitude of "well you don't know that it'll be a problem, wait and see before you complain".

I think I would have to agree. I would really like to know how they will be sorting out MP cost as well as hate with out lvls of spells.
