You need an active subscription to FFXI, and possibly have logged in within 30 days to post on the FFXI forums, the latter could just be for the FFXIV ones because people we keeping thier accounts active to post.

Your character will not have been deleated but because you canceled your subscription you cant post, this is you avoid people that dont play trolling the forums.
