What do you want done with Guild Marks? Your feedback to developers!

Howdy!

Just wanted to let you know ahead of time that in patch 1.21 it will be possible to exchange guild marks for items such as different varieties of materia, shards, crystals, and clusters. We will be listing the exchange rates in the patch notes, so please check them out.

As a side note, we will not be making new methods in which to obtain guild marks as we will be eliminating them from the game in 2.0.

hmm is it just me or is that kinda wierd that they give you clusters to buy from marks but no new recipe to break them down

Maybe next patch there will be a use? Or maybe they are ninja adding some ALC recipes.

they are getting rid of an old system . They could have just taken guild marks of you inventory

Indeed, what a massive load of bollocks. They have no imagination whatsoever. So bascialy was a complete waste of time getting those guild marks for the first year of playing. They couldnt think of anither way to use them. Yep just take the easy mode and give us shards. thanks /facepalm

As if we deserve some special award for collecting guild marks.../facepalm.

They could take them out w/o giving anything in exchange, since we got all the skills from Marks by default, so what's the big deal? All we did to get those marks were leves and Class Quests...not as if wouldn't have done them anyway...

Some people are just way above their heads...you did nothing special to get those marks, so why would you deserve anything special in exchange?...

It's not so much expecting something special than a complete lack of creativity there. I'm disappointed they're getting rid of Guild Marks for good, they could have a special use later on. One suggestion I made a long time ago were special missions you could undertake by spending marks from a given guild. Reward could be a boosted amount of gil, or special items not obtainable by other means.

Hell, there's mention of special class specific gear being released in the future, why can't we just use marks to buy those? Marks are specifically mentioned as being a form of currency for special goods and services from those respective guilds, offering class (not job) specific gear via marks would suit that. Guild marks have so much potential but telling us "Oh you can have shards, crystals, or some clusters for these. Maybe some materia too." seems so lacking. Right now I have over 5-8K of every kind of shard, so I really have no reason to waste my marks on these. With the new job equipment being so much better than crafted double/triple melded gear there's not much use for materia. Even now the market wards tend to be overstocked with materia that people just don't want. So unless they offer some absolutely amazing materia (Something better than just stat boosting/aliment resistant materia.) in exchange, you're still better off not really wasting your time.
