IMO, they should have done it before companies were even introduced. The problem here is that the GCs don't offer anything, aside from weapons, that is specifically designed to benefit a single class. Guilds can accomplish this, thus reducing the redundancy of it. In fact, I would even argue that guilds should do this.

I have a burning desire to have a reason to visit my guild every day (or each leve reset), and have some guild-specific goals I can work towards, be it purchasable items, or random daily guild tasks, which could range from basic leves to dungeons to something akin to faction leves. The possibilities are only as limited as what the game has to offer.
