Let us use them to purchase library books that contain information on recipes used in crafting, that can then be accessed by us in the relevant guild.

Get rid of them. I'm swimming in marks. They become worthless when you obtain all the traits. Abolish marks, let us get them through leveling.
Google Kwestro
prior to the new system being developed the idea was probably allow you to continue to earn marks so when the cap was increased you could buy the new ability scrolls from the guilds when you hit an appropriate level.
but i do see your point, i have over 10k in conjurer marks, another 10k in archer marks and nothing left to buy with them.
expanding on the recipe book idea,
why not convert marks into a universal mark, so instead of "conjurer guild marks" you would have "guild marks" that can be used in ANY guild. because if guild marks are used to buy recipes but only marks related to crafting, then people like myself who dont craft alot would miss out.
converting them to a universal mark and letting us use then in any guild would mean those who dont craft are able to buy the recipe books and build a recipe library
The problem with the DoW and DoM guildmarks was that there is no consumption item like in the DoH guilds.
In the DoH guilds you can still buy crystals after you buyed every ability and scroll.
Without the guildmarks and traits we need another rewards for the class quests.
this is another possible expansion to the recipe library, for class quest rewards you can get special recipes that cant be brought from the guild
they should keep them and use the points as class only equipment, the systems is already there they should just use it another way. they could even make class only quest or leves that cost points.
I want to buy traits that will be learned just by other classes. Like if i'm MRD i can grab my MRD marks, go to LNC guild and buy the traits that will be LNC only.
This would be a nice way of doing stuff...if i want to, as example, have fleet to foot (assuming it will become LNC only) availble to equip with my MRD, PGL, GLA and ARC then i'd need to go to LNC guild and buy it as MRD (with MRD marks), as PGL (with PGL marks), as GLA (with GLA marks) and as ARC (with ARC marks). If i buy it just as MRD then only MRD would have it availble at traits list.
This would also be a good way to prevent key traits like fleet to foot, prime conditioning and fastcast to be locked to its native classes...
seals and gill is nice
I would absolutely expect a refund for any obsolete/changed guild marks actions/traits that have already been purchased.
I would love to be able to use guild marks for things other than actions/traits. I would love to see vanity gear for each class, useful gear with stats for each class that is very class specific, items to use that are consumable to help players in that class (how about anima scrolls, free airship passes, buff scrolls, etc), and also items for display (with beneficial stats) for the new player housing.
I liked the concept of the specializations in the crafts - however, many crafters ended up with all of them anyway (and in multiple classes). There wasn't much of a uniqueness gained by purchasing those specialties. Also, having those specializations didn't really seem very noticeable. If they choose to continue something like this in the future, then choices would need to be limited (say a couple of them per class, and unique to that class) and also make the difference really have an impact on that type of synth.
