I quit for around 6 months, didn't manage to get all my craftings done by that time, so now Fine Sand sucks, I welcome the Marks -> Shard Exchange Rate...shuld give me enough shards to get all leftover crafts to 50

Depends on how much they are. If they are still the price the guilds were requesting, I'll pass and get gil instead.

Patch notes have the exchange rates listed: 4gil per mark, about 60 marks for crystals 30 for shards?, and anywhere from 5~200k marks for materia of all types and tiers 1~4 included.

Ele potency's top the charts with 200k/per tier IV.

So glad I did those billion leve's for marks and have over a million stored up lol

The crystals are certainly cheaper than those greedy guild workers were trying to get. Still think I'd rather have the gil though, especially since I have well over a million guildmarks as well. Or I could just buy a bunch of low level materia and try my luck at getting more than just a double meld.

Maybe next patch there will be a use? Or maybe they are ninja adding some ALC recipes.
