Mog Station is overpriced.

- firstly, I don't buy these things. If people want to fair enough so hopefully I can give a neutral view.

Most people know this game's competition, especially the elephant in the room Warcraft.
So comparing prices with that game:

Warforged Nightmare mount (account wide) = $30.00
Range of other mounts ( all account wide) Armored Bloodwing, Celestial Steed, Enchanted Fey Dragon, Mystic Runesaber, and others = $25.00
Pets (all account wide) = $10.00
Helms (all account wide) = $15.00

Comparisons between roughly similar items of the two games will have to wait until the Mog Station optional items page is back up after maintenance.

I mean, it's not really a new thing to Square Enix. Have you seen their "real life" merchandise? Final Fantasy Anniversary Potion bottles going for over a hundred dollars (Potion is... an energy drink, I believe?). The music albums, art books, figures, posters, physical games, clothes, jewelry, plushes, dishware. That $600 blitzball. Final Fantasy XV's Noctis' clothes going for $1,450.00 just for the top (just search FFXV and Roen).

Some people pay hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars for fine food and/ or wine. Some spend a temporary meal's cost on pixels in a virtual world.

I bought the Moogle Mount and I have no regrets, worth every single bit of cash I spent - its also a double seater also, and is cute af. I personally have no real issues with the cash shop. If I see an item on there I like, I will buy it - not necessarily straight away mind you. The outfit does look nice and as much as I want to buy it - right now I'm happy with my glamours as they are.

There are always people out there who will be "pro" or "anti" towards the shop but honestly you need to remember this was for the Chinese servers only and that exclusivity adds to the price a little, even if some/a lot of people are unhappy about that and its also not account wide. But there is no pleasing everyone sadly - someone will always complain about something. I am assuming the Chinese player base had to pay for these items and if that's the case, then its only fair we do also.

Actually, no. They got the dress entirely free as part of a promotional event. Nonetheless, people aren't complaining because they have to pay. I'd happily throw $10 (give or take a bit) at that dress. What irked me is the sudden price hike. And like I said in the other thread on this topic, the exclusivity argument comes across rather flimsy when you could make the very about any event item on the MogStation. The community clamoured for Lightning's gear to be added. When it was, hers came at half the cost once you factor in each piece of gear and her hairstyle. That is what has people ticked off, especially since the "30% EXP" perk only benefits people who don't have all their jobs leveled.

I think the new items are definitely overpriced. It's only three pieces! It wouldn't have been quite so bad if it included a hairstyle (but even then seems expensive - Y'shtola set was outfit plus hairstyle for 1600ish yen, Chinese dress set is 1900ish for clothes only). AND it's not even account-wide.

I mean... it's a digital item that only one character will receive. 1900 yen!! Awful. I'm not against glamour items in the cash shop, but these prices....

I think they're slowly upping and upping the price on items to see how far they can get before crossing that "invisible line" where they will get less profit because of less people buying it than just making it cheaper, is my guess.

I don't mind little optionals, I'm guilty of buying the cash shop mounts, and I think having past seasonal event items in the cash shop is a cool idea, but as a subscription game it feels a little icky that they're raising the prices and putting so many exclusive items into the cash shop. But I suppose that it's the way of the system now, people like me are buying it, and if it gives them more profit then they have no reason to stop as they are a business after all.

I like a number of others probably would have bought the outfit and perhaps the barding if it were cheaper. $7 for an emote that doesn't really have that much movement? Mmm...

If their extras were in the $2-$5 range, I'd probably buy a few. Being in AU, this is a $20 virtual dress. I can buy RL clothes for less. I don't know where this exclusivity comes in. Nothing is "exclusive" if any Tom, Dick or Harry can buy it.

Imported items are generally more expensive. Also, apparently, SE weren't the ones that designed the outfits, if this one reddit user is to be believed. Would make sense for the price hike, then, as SE probably had to buy the rights to use the item on other versions of the game and/or cut a profit with the ones who made it.
So how was the exclusive clothes obtained on the Chinese servers, since you seem to know? I'm curious. o_o

Means it was something not originally intended to come over here at all. The only reason the "exclusives" have (and we haven't gotten all of them, mind you) been brought over is because of the demand.
