Actually, no. They got the dress entirely free as part of a promotional event. Nonetheless, people aren't complaining because they have to pay. I'd happily throw $10 (give or take a bit) at that dress. What irked me is the sudden price hike. ~snip~

Imported items are generally more expensive. Also, apparently, SE weren't the ones that designed the outfits, if this one reddit user is to be believed. Would make sense for the price hike, then, as SE probably had to buy the rights to use the item on other versions of the game and/or cut a profit with the ones who made it.
So how was the exclusive clothes obtained on the Chinese servers, since you seem to know? I'm curious. o_o

If their extras were in the $2-$5 range, I'd probably buy a few. Being in AU, this is a $20 virtual dress. I can buy RL clothes for less. I don't know where this exclusivity comes in. Nothing is "exclusive" if any Tom, Dick or Harry can buy it.

Means it was something not originally intended to come over here at all. The only reason the "exclusives" have (and we haven't gotten all of them, mind you) been brought over is because of the demand.
