    Grand Company advancement - unable to proceed

    Has anyone else had this issue? I can't seem to advance to First Lieutenant, I'm receiving a message that there are no new ranks for me.

    Speaking to the Personnel Officer (Maelstrom in my case) just pops up a 'not further ranks available' message, even tho I'm 2nd Lt ... maybe part of the Thursday update ?!

    Maybe it has something to do with platoons? I got a 4th member and I sent them. Nothing yet, I'll see when they come back.

    Edit: Well, squadron is back, but nothing new.

    You have to complete some challenge log entries, then you have a chance of getting a new application...
    I did some Gold Saucer ones since they are quick, and the crafting ones with worthless stuff.

    I'm assume it has something to do with the new squadrons for GC's. From what the NPC said we need to do challenge logs and as we complete them other people will come along and ask to join our squads. After the 4 we can send them out to do our bidding..I mean train them.

    I just guess that after we do one or two we will have proven ourselves worthy and that will allow us to ask for a promotion maybe after one or two runs, or once they reach a certain level. Most of the items I saw, and I can be wrong, dealt with the two glamour pieces as well as the items that allow us to change a member to a different profession. I did try to do small talk to the other L.L. NPC to get some clues but they had nothing. I didn't hear anyone say anything in response to the few who were screaming and shouting as they were upset they couldn't rank up instantly.

    I don't mind it, something in the patch notes that's not clearly laid out for us and we just have to find out and go through.
