What can I get at endgame without Heavensward?

Hello,

I finally have the time try the game after getting the base game from a bundle back then. After my first session yesterday, I guess I'm ready to invest my time in FFXIV. As I only have the base game, I'm aware that I'll be missing all of the Heavensward content. Here's some of my questions:

1. Is it possible to stay at ARR and do endgame level 50 quests?
2. Will it be possible to find party members to do said endgame activities?
3. What would be my ultimate objective at level 50 endgame?

1. Is it possible to stay at ARR and do endgame level 50 quests?
You can stay but very few content for ARR are added after the expansion but ARR itself has plenty of stuff you can spend time doing on until you get the expansion. Like clearing all lv50 dungeons, going through Palace of the Dead and also Beast Tribe quests.

2. Will it be possible to find party members to do said endgame activities?
Still possible depends, dungeons are still joined via roulette but as for endgame raids you might need to ask friends/fc to help out as people rarely queue them directly via Duty Finder. On top of that, you won't be able to enjoy them at the difficult level it used to have when they were first available due to max ilvl and also unsync option.

3. What would be my ultimate objective at level 50 endgame?
For ARR, glamours are your endgame if you like Fishing there's a unique quest involved with that job. Also clearing All Coil/EX Trials and finish Hildibrand's side story would be your objective.That's pretty much what you can do.

1. Yes, you can stay at 50 as long as you like. It was the highest level for a long time, so theres a good ammount of content to potentially dig into.

2. Maybe? Some of it very easily, some of it will require you to organize people. Kinnison is right that you wont get the same difficulty/experience that the old-timers had though.

3. This is up to you. Clear every level 50 dungeon? There are 19 of them to unlock and defeat. Defeat all the "primal threats" in their most potent form? There are like 9 of those to go through. Find out what really happened during the calamity with bahamut? Well there are 13 coils(and the harder versions of each) between you and the truth. There are 3 alliance raids you can do. You can improve relations with 5 of the beast tribes. Major side quests like Hildi and the Postmoogle are just waiting. You could work to get your zodiac weapon. Completing the sightseeing log is a true challenge. You could work to become the greatest chocobo trainer/jockey the gold saucer has ever seen. Your end game could be getting all 21 classes to level 50 and completing all their quests. Or maybe just finding the perfect outfit glamour for yourself.

As already said, there is a lot of level 50 group content, since the level cap stayed there for a long time. However, since that's an option, most people run that content now unsynced, meaning they'll create party finder parties and do the content with their level 60 jobs instead of queueing through the duty finder. Because of this, you may have a hard time finding people to run older raids or extremes with you when you're level 50. There were still some people doing the level 50 24 person raids through duty finder a few months ago when I was doing them for my relic, but since more and more players are over that phase of their relic, there's less and less people doing those.

There is, however, a lot of story content and 4 person dungeons for level 50. So if you enjoy doing main scenario quests, beating hard mode primals and running 4 person dungeons, not to mention the original relic quest, beastman tribes etc., there's plenty of content for you.
