Horrible game?

Watched a few youtube videos on FFXIV. Thought okay, I have a friend playing lets check it out.

I purchase and download the game and used the referral code for my friend. I attempt to join his server and observer its greyed out. I contact support by phone and they tell me that the servers too full and that I couldn't make a character on that server unless I payed MORE money ontop of the monthly cost and the basic game cost for a server transfer?

I thought I'd be able to just download the game and play it with my friend. Guess now I'll have to look into a refund since the game doesnt support me playing with friends. No cross server play either?

When requesting to speak with a manager I was refused and the customer service rep said there was nothing else he could do for me.

What a horrible game system.

Wait so gameplay sucks because SE has locked the server to make it playable for others?

Although I agree customer service on here needs improving on this occasion they are right, as they did everything they could to warn you that you can't create a character there. Also the main page before even creating a character tells you what servers are available.

Also if you started in Gridania or Uldah then those two citys are quiet as people tend to all group up in limsa, due to the market board being nearer the Aetheryte
