WXHB Am I doing this wrong?

In the character configuration it offers a check box for "Enable directional buttons." I was under the impression that that meant I would be able to set the D-pad as my WXHB, but it only allows for the allocation of the Circle, Square, Triangle, and X buttons. Am I missing something? Using the figure buttons when they're to the left of the D-pad position is seriously throwing me off.

what i found was you can set the display of the wxhb to up and left and up and right so the display on either side of the regular cross bar...or press LT and RT at the same time.

It seems to have suddenly fixed itself. The whole hot bar is now visible. I guess it just took it a minute?

LT + RT at the same time is for the expanded hold controls that have been in the game for a long time. The new one, the W Cross Hotbar (WXHB), is accessed with a double tap of either the LT (for one half of the crossbar) or RT (for the other half).

So we've now got three active crossbars, the regular crossbar (single LT or RT), the expanded crossbar (both LT + RT), and W crossbar (double tap LT or RT), for a total of 48 action slots (or 40 on PS3) before needing to swap hotbars (which gives access to all 128 slots).

it does work, but only if you have "Hold" control scheme.

I can't even select the expanded parts of the hotbar. No matter how many times I try neither double tapping nor tapping then holding does anything...
