    I don't raid, I don't have raider gear - I went into 3.4 at i239 with relic in hand, expecting to have to work really hard to complete the new dungeons.
    I was shocked how easy it went.
    Xelphatol - all four of us firsttimers, we finished in under 20 minutes with no deaths and hiccups anywhere along the way.
    Gubal Hard - 3 of us new, same completion time with only the second boss being a speedbump in figuring it out.

    Call me crazy, and I know dungeons aren't supposed to be very tough but ... if I can get those kind of effectively speedruns in previous patch gear, on DF, in a major gear update patch there -has- to be something screwy with the difficulty.

    I know how you feel. It just blows my mind how they waste these amazingly designed assets and insanely gorgeous effects on such a dull gameplay. These dungeons really should have something akin to wow's mythic versions. Its just a complete snoozefest even if you pull everything lol there is 0 chalenge...

    FFXIV has not had a mid core content level since it released. This has been another issue people have complaiend about for forever. FFXIV is designed around the very casual gamer. More focus is put on cosmetics, emotes, and stuff that dont even matter. hard mode dungeons are not hard at all. You have either the snoozefest content, or the really stiff, mechanic heavy, dps check heavy end game encounters. There is no inbetween, and its been a problem for a while.

    We had a couple dungeons that were actually a bit of a challenge, AK and Pharos come to mind, until people cried they couldn't play half asleep and spam one move and beat a dungeon.

    These two are good examples of why we can't have nice things. Even now Pharos has the mob that increases the damage dealt to the tank, seems to be the last thing to die and when people do not dodge..it still hurts. Or when they gather up all those spirits and they banish III at the same time. The dungeons are designed to do it already, dungeons 50+ though they're just not adjusted to it.

    Most of the effort in the content patch has gone into fluff content, this is now the course SE wishes to take from now on, do not be surprised of the combat content sees a reduction or any content that requires effort for that matter, never seen a playerbase that wants so much fluff content before and its propagated into the game and everything else has been dismissed, this game is basically FF14- Barbie reborn

    Personally I feel like they added a lot of quality of life changes with this patch that we've been waiting for a long time now. As far as content goes, the new savage mode raids and sophia ex will keep me busy for a little while. I do think that the questing was a little bit lax this time but honestly I don't mind that too much.

    The playerbase has asked for proper harder modes of dungeons along side their easy mode variants, not the 'hard' modes they release because they are not hard, they are simply reusing assets which in it self is not a bad thing to speed up development but calling it hard is a joke. People have also asked for proper 8 man dungeons, like praetorium but with drops and no cut scenes. I would be happy if they just made a proper tuned mode for that and added it into the patch. Did we get any of that? nope, what this patch brought instead was fluff.

    Be happy you do not play a certain other MMORPG which releases less content less frequently and is infamous for a certain patch which had a selfie-cam as it's main feature... Or pretty much any MMORPG on the market to be completely honest. The patches are not expansion packs, they are not going to add entire new continents or something like that. That is what we have expansions for.

    That an MMORPG is mostly grinding the same content over and over is pretty much standard, but this game has much content to grind.

    What is the problem with glamour items and housing? This is a social game, and those features are highly appealing. There is, however, some effort-taking content, but close to no one does that content. What should they focus on do you think? There is also challenging raiding content for those who desires that.
