    Small or not, I am not quite sure. It is, however, rather disappointing so far. I've yet to do everything, but I have at least done/stepped into: MSQ, Sophia NM, Sophia EX, A9N, Wondrous Tails, and both new dungeons. Nothing has really been that good - there were a couple of points in the MSQ that were decent (Gu Ba), but overall meh. I reserve total judgement til I try it all (I hear A11 and A12 are good), but as it is, this patch is rating pretty low for me.

    You are right, the dev team intelligently designed this content around an ilvl of 210, following a patch where they were handing out 240 gear to everyone in a catch up patch.

    Yoshi: The adjustments to the 2 new dungeons are already complete (note: this interview took place before TGS). Since the item levels are being refreshed, it may feel harder than the 3.3 dungeons at first. With the 3.3 dungeons, they were released when the item levels of players were already high, so it felt easier from the get go, but this time you'll be challenging it with a low item level and of course you'll be able to clear it, but we made it so you start to get what's going on as you go, and the clear times become faster and faster as your item level goes up. Please take careful steps on your first visit and go full-out.
    Q. Is it risky to pull them all at the beginning?
    A. I think it'll be dangerous (laughs) I'd prefer tanks to advance carefully.

    I went into the story dungeon completely unprepared, we were four new people. The tank pulled everything that she could, we did not die even once and we noticed the mechanics quite fast so, yeah I am not really sure whats so hard about the dungeon..The bib was a little harder but more because of some mechanics..yet I only died on the last boss. I can understand that the story dungeon is not that hard because people want to go through it..and finish the story but Hardmode Dungeons really should live up to their name..

    I also dont agree that they should make those catch up dungeons. New people already get a lot of content to catch up..at least make the new instanced dungeon something that your veteran players can look forward too.

    Alex normal was the only "harder" content and yet we were able to defeat A12 with 7 new people after one wipe..so I feel that they are still too easy.

    I would not say that the patch felt small for me, and I at least have some more things to farm for but I am also not sure if this will be fun for the next few months..At least I somewhat liked the MSQ, Hildi was nice again, the other side quest was..alright..so yeah it was probably not the best patch ever but also not the worst.

    compared to the dungeons i found alex Nm to be quite challenging though. I def not wanna do this with DF anytime soon. the damage the group takes in 11 and 12 is really high for now and lazy healers or slow movers will likely result in unneccessary wipes.

    It took me about 5 and a half hours to get through the MSQ. I was actually really impressed with the content in this patch. I'm really looking forward to completing Wondrous Tales and getting a Sophia EX weapon. I just don't know where I'm going to find the time to do it all.

    I think the key words here are 4 hours. You spent nearly 4 hours on the MSQ and unlocking of trials/dungeons. Being able to unlock everything in a timely manner gives everyone the instant gratification that our gaming culture seems to crave. That is likely by design.

    However, it is the sustainability of these new content moving forward that will decide whether or not this is a successful patch. From that perspective there is a hell of a lot more than 4 hrs of content to do.

    All I know is the 2 new dungeons are the worst ones we got so far.
    Gubal was a MAJOR disappointment, but the end boss made up for it.
    The rest was rehashed crap by adding Liquid from Alex in it. .__.
    Gubal NM being my fave dungeon in the game so colour me unimpressed.

    Wait, I loved Gubal, and so did my FC mates. Plenty of level 50 duns' bosses have been rehashed for newer battles, like the shadow dragon. It's never bothered me since the fights still feel new.
    Personally, I liked how GGL HM felt so different from the previous dungeon formula. I really enjoyed it. Oh, and I was never a fan of GGL NM, it was okay.
    The only thing that kind of bothered me was how easy Xelphatol was.

    Liquid Flame is actually from FFV, much like Byblos in the original dungeon.



    It made sense for it to be here. Fight isn't even that similar to the Alex one.
