Thread: Unable to Update Patch Files PC 3.4 Patch

About a third through the 3.4 patch I continuously get an error code.

Code is:

Unable to update patch files.
[11006][20819][20890][19900][3]
SqPack:0x3-0x0-0

Numbers are always the same.

I've tried closing it down and restarting, and it attempts to recommence version update, and then gives that same error.

I've tried running as admin, deleting the files in the folder: FFXIV/downloads/ffxivpatch.

I've tried restarting my PC, I've tried rebooting my internet.

So far, nothing is working. And I don't know what to do from here.
I *really* do not want to have to uninstall and reinstall the game. That's going to take like 10 hours for me.

I just tried the following and it worked for me, allowing me to update the launcher and download patch 3.4.

Navigate to your game install location on your drive, locate two folders: boot, game. Right click each folder > properties > click the 'read only ' box so that the field is empty. ( No tick or little square).

Launch the game through the ffxivboot.exe and it, hopefully, will connect you to the launcher and thus patch the game.

I did as you suggested and made sure the boxes were unticked, and it still gave me the same error :\

Glad it worked for you, but I appear to be stuck still.

I've been having the same error.

I tried the "read only" fix but it didn't work.

Even when I try to redownload the patch I get to about 850K mb and the error pops up.

And I was so excited to play the patch too.

So I bit the bullet and uninstalled and reinstalled. It's working now.

Really inconvenient that this happened.. :\ hopefully in the future I can avoid this.

THIS WORKS FOR THE PC VERSION! I can confirm that this option works!

Go to: my documents\my games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn

Edit the file: FFXIV_BOOT.cfg (Open it up with Notepad)

Edit the line: BootVersionCheckMode from 0 to 1

Then relaunch your FFXIV Boot/Launcher and it'll start updating!!! YAY!
