    Combos + Animation Lock

    So... I have not seen this posted anywhere. While the concept of the (combo) system sounds like great fun, doing it with animation lock does not. Especially if we have to run to certain positions to do it. I mean doing combos on Ifrit after phase 2 is like a death sentence on the tank and everyone else that's involved.

    I just hope the graphic animations get altered to where it's a lot smoother if this is going to transpire.

    Or can we at least get a more thorough explanation on them. The info from the class reform was pretty weak.

    Very good point... Animation lock is pretty brutal right now... doesn't sound like it would be fun when we not only have to dodge mob movement but also run like hell to flank for our next move.

    It would be hard but not impossible. The tank can do a combo 2 any time he wants to. He'd only have to be careful on combo 3 to not train an Incinerate or a Swipe on the DDs.

    DDs can decide to only do combos when Eruption is on someone else, if if they are in the clear of Plume, etc.

    If the tank can combo 2 and the DDs can finish with combo 3 (we don't know yet if this will be possible), then it would be even easier.

    Isnt it ment to be done with other members?

    Similar to that of skill-chains in XI.

    It seems to me a lot will require combos that require 2 classes of 2 players (due to strict skills and timing)

    if i read correctly they keep reffering to combos as "self combos" so i think combos are very much soloable, i guess similar to BLU self skill chains in FFXI.

    dont forget the "character position location" problem the servers are having.
    if the combos also rely on character position then we might have a loooot combos not activate due to character position latency.
    remember that video of the same character running a circle on one screen and in a random mess on the other screen?
    this is a problem SE admitted to.

    has to be better than the button 1-4 faceroll system they have now.

    my house is in rebuilding stage. this house is very small and in unpopular area.
    the roof, floors, plumbing, and gas are all broke.
    my landlord fired the original crew. for not completing the job on time
    the new crew comes in and makes all kinds of promises, and shows me pics.
    now for next year i have to wait for them to finish the job.
    should I move to a more popular, bigger house rent it for same price?
    or stay in the part of my house that is not being rebuilt. but still pay same rent as others.

    Screw your problems managing the lag, which they have pretty much confirmed won't be really fixed until 2.0 I want more complex combat now.

    I would also be surprised if they removed combat lock, and I still want the combo system.

    You should just deal with it.

    just one thing, complex combat now is great, but with latency issues, half of it may not work alot of the time therefore making complex battle, boring annoying battle

    thats not a troll to you or a dig at your point, im all for complex battle too, but i'd like to see animation lock, player pos issues, other latency fixed asap so that more complex battle and other mechanics have a chance of working first.
