I've had to completely reinstall for every major patch

since Heavensward, possibly even before.



Getting extremely tired of it and frustrated with having to deal with this over and over again.

I've tried doing this every time but it only worked the first time. Since then it has required a complete reinstall each and every time.

If this keeps happening I'll simply stop caring about updating the game at all, ever again.

Loads of us got that error and some were able to download, after waiting 5-10 mins it was fixed and the download started.

Give it a good 10 minutes and it should work.

THIS WORKS FOR THE PC VERSION! I can confirm that this option works!

Go to: my documents\my games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn

Edit the file: FFXIV_BOOT.cfg (Open it up with Notepad)

Edit the line: BootVersionCheckMode from 0 to 1

Then relaunch your FFXIV Boot/Launcher and it'll start updating!!! YAY!

My friend had that issue because they use a VPN. once they disabled it never had that problem. Do your or who ever handles your internet use VPN?

This is already mentioned in the link I provided in the initial post. And as I've said, as is my entire reason for making this thread- it doesn't work for everyone, and it doesn't work for me anymore.

So when you say "this option works" you mean it works /for you and some others/, but certainly not everyone.
