I think this bit is pretty clear. There is a Source and there are thirteen reflections of the Source. So fourteen variations on Eorzea.
Well, fourteen makes sense, since we're in XIV. It also mirrors the way the boss of the VIIth Legion mirrored Sephiroth (to a point) and the same for the VIth and Kefka (to a point).
We know from Soul Surrender that the First is closest to the light. And the shard closest to the darkness has turned into the Void. I'm not teaching anyone to suck eggs here, but fourteen splits nicely down the middle, with no one side having an extra shard.
So does that mean the Source is closer to the Light or closer to the Dark?
So, my quick diagram looks something like this...

Is the Source near the middle? It can't be right in the middle because there's no half-shards. Whole numbers only, people! Is it position 7 or 8?

Has the loss of the shard closest to the dark (14), evened out the number of positions either side of the Source? Would that bring this pattern into line with Elidibus' touchstone of equilibrium? Has allowing the 14th position (13th shard for those keeping up) to be consumed by the Void left 6 shards either side of the Source? Does that make his goal easier?
Or, if the Source is position 8, are there now less steps for Dark to get through before it reaches the Source?
I'm not 100% sure where any of this goes (if at all!) but it bugged me all day and I had to type it up to see if I genuinely deserved the mad prophet card.
