Thread: Keep Main Job or switch in 4.0?

Nope, I won't. I will try new jobs if there are any that are interesting to me but that will be after I explored the new content with my whm.

I am not sure.... it depends on what changes are made with BRD and BLM. Personally i would love to have a pure Damage Dealer bow job.... NO SUPPORT tired of hearing "BRD is a support job that is why there dps goes to crap halfway through the fight" sure BRD has an amazing opener but once the opener is done and gone the damage is mediocre at best and that is if you keep all dots up 100% of time and time buffs perfectly with your 3 pop jump shot as i call it....

I just hope the 4.0 dps jobs are not a let down like MCH was. MCH has to much RNG involved... I dont like mixing skill with some bs RNG feature.... I spend more time watching the cross bar hoping for procs then actually enjoying the encounters....

I also hate timers as they really ruin the fun. MNK, DRG, NIN and BLM to this day still have the sweetest rotation. But the timers really suck the fun out of risk over reward... You are forced to stick with the devs way of playing or risk dropping your 3.0 rotation.... I really hope they get rid of those stupid timers on 4.0.

The point of leveling up your character is to increase the stats of each trate and skill.... Why put timers on certain skill sets? I can see timers being on buffs like blood for blood or raging strikes... but to see timers on something like enochian is just a waist of time and resources... make it a trait and be done with it.... Enochian should be an application with Bliz 4 being the applier and fire 3 should be the activator... as long as you have enough mp to sustain fire 4 casts then enocian will stay up. Once you cast bliz 3 or go into umbral state enochian should simply fall off then simply cast bliz 4 to reapply enochian.... I hate going back to the 2.0 rotation just because the boss had to jump off the screen and the enochian timer was to low before having the chance to reset it.... Its annoying simple as that.

any-who, i hope SAM (if we get SAM in 4.0) is not a drop in the mud and then walked all over with timers or RNG... I swear if they go that route with SAM I will quit the game and not buy 4.0... I swear on that.... I will wait to get 4.0 and wait for review of each old job and new job... If I see that the devs finally listen to the players then i will continue to play. If not I will simply not buy 4.0 and move on to other games. 4.0 will be the make or break for me.... 3.0 killed almost all joy I have left for this game and if they screw up 4.0 then I will say my good byes and hope 5.0 will be better. I dont want to see the same old song dance we had in 2.4 - 3.55. I want to see something better like horizontal progression with gear and trait chasing stats on gear sets... I am tired of seeing just crit and det.... its so old and dated and waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to simple....

Depends. We don't know what we get. BUt if the ninja continues to feel and look like a not-ninja, I might switch. You know what? Scratch that. I will switch to either Machinist or Astrologian even if the new jobs aren't that interesting.

I will level Samurai and Red Mage should they be released in 4.0, regardless of their roles. However i waited for Dark Knight since 1.0, I wont be changing my main.

it will depend which job they screw up the least..like the poor blm in hw. will se which one they don't destroy, they are not good at designing rotations in this game so we shall see

Depends on the job we will get, I really love bard right now but if we get red mage or dancer I might considere.
