Estimated time before we can patch? Will it be sooner then launch?

for EST its normally about 6 am for servers...a couple hours before for patch download. However, if you are on one of the crazy servers like mine, id get up an hour earlier and check here and there

They actually did allow complimentary transfers at the beginning of 2.0 for a brief period. I know this because i transferred off of balmung for free during that time.

Could only transfer to another legacy server, person didn't have free pick of any server they wanted.

Yea this is true, even if they did do a free transfer say in 4.0 it wouldn't matter anyways. Cause I have a medium house and like 20 mil on my retainer and for transfers can't bring house with and capped at what like 1 mil for transfer?

This doesn't necessarily mean that we can't patch earlier. In the past, they sometimes had early completion time for the maintenance and the servers were available earlier. Obviously that won't happen because of the housing rush. However, the patch servers have always been up at least a bit before the live time if I remember right.

I agree. Especially if you have slower internet speed, you can log in and at least download the patch earlier. Right now its about 3 hours before live time and I find it odd with no patch download up.

I think it was as close as 1h before server opening before. I don't have slower internet anymore but I did during last patch and it really sucks having to wait 2h for the patch because of your slow connection AND the download servers being flooded.

They come up early more often than not. There's only 2 rules they follow:

1. servers never come up just before a weekly reset
2. if housing is being added they don't come up early at all so people aren't pressured into staring at the logon screen for hours
