I.e Nunchucks for Ninja, A third eye for a monk, generating energy, so they can punch from long range, clubs for warriors, and dark Knights, dual pistols for machinists, etc. it would be a fun way to spice up the game.

I only have one real request.. and that is that I can glamor all of my miqo'te paladin paladin swords to be one handed axes~
Viera looks amazing
Hrothgar looks amazing
Shadowbringers looks amazing
Everything looks amazing
....
.....
So obviously it's all a trap and the world is factually coming to an end..
Nah,
That would give us options and diversivy the playstyle for the same class (like your example monk going from close combat to ranged).
SE is pretty clear about not wanting that, and if you listen to the "proraiders" and min maxers they will open your eyes about how useless choice is because in the end we will all have to take the most potent choice even if that gives only a 0,0001% advantage.....
[/Sarcasm off]
Would be interesting and if implemented right quit fun, could even come with switching weapons mid battle if possible (but then maybe more then 2 weapons per class so that switching between weapon 1 and 2 does not redue the value of choice again).
But it should definitly lead to very different playstyles.
For example Paladin could choose between sword and shild, a more agressive Two sword style or an two shield style.
For the two sword style they would replace all the shield skills with new attacks that concentrate on more damage.
With the shield stile ALL of the sword skills become thinks that either support the group and reduce damage, only a few damage attacks like shield bash and for example a shield charge would remain this would emphasise the defensive and support role of paladin (aggro could be generated with the support actions and the defensive attacks).
Well we both know this will never happen.
I could live with some weapon glamours to change the look of them. Only thing is that it has to fit the animations already ingame or else it would look weird. As I doubt that they would make new animations just for some glamours of weapons.
Edit: I know people dislike the Mogstore for adding glamours. But perhaps they could make some themed packaged with glamours for the weapons.
This is the only way I can see how a new weapon (visually) could be added.

Job changes use weapons. The weapon is the job, that is how it advertised so I don't think it will change. Not to mention it'd require a lot of work for all those new animations.

I'd actually like them to do sale packages... like I just want the Scion hairstyles (Minfilia, Thancred, Y'shtola) so having a hairstyle pack would be nice(and unlocked for all characters on the account)... but yeah, you aren't going to get new weapon types, you MAY get something like balloon weapons, that would be hilarious, but not totally new weapons.I could live with some weapon glamours to change the look of them. Ya, the time spent adding a new weapon type to a job would just be better spent making a new job.
