Relatively new crafter question regarding early patch days

3.4 is going to be the first time that I actually have crafters in place to make some good money from day 1 of a patch. My question is for the mid to hardcore crafters: Do you guys usually make a beeline towards crafting/selling new recipes first, or do you go through the story and content and just start crafting as you feel like it?

I haven't even completed all the dungeons, raids and ex primals from last patch. I was working towards catching up from a 6mo break to finish up college. Since being back all my craft/gather classes are caught up and decked out and I have close to 100mil. Not trying to brag but the last two 1/2 months have been a grind. I was really behind and broke when I got back.

I say "Yes, B-LINE all day". I'm making a spreadsheet for my spec classes so I can bumrush the market-board and pummel anyone in the way. XD

First, figure out what you "can" make and go buy everything up. Second, figure out the new gathering areas and requirements and get to it.

Looks like "Roundtable/Hive" i180 weapons can be crafted as soon as you log as well as a ton of furniture and and other glamour gear. Only time I've had to MSQ before crafting after patch was at 3.0 when it was needed to unlock new areas.

I enjoy the story first. There will be plenty of Gil available to be made on day 3 and beyond too.

Typically the items sell for the most in the early days of the patch, but you also pay more for materials. Doesn't always pay off, but the crafted stuff is better ilvl now than in those early days.

I would recommend being wary about making a large investment on an item that there are already several of on the MB. If there are too many people selling for too high and the demand isn't there, it can be whoever wins the undercutting game.
