Playstation VR

I'm having trouble finding out whether FF14 will be compatible with the Playstation VR when it comes out next month. I've seen it running on the VR but the demos are all from last year. There hasn't been a lot of info about it since then but I assume they're still making the game compatible with the VR. Anyone happen to know more about it and when the game will be available for the VR?

Ik they said it would have vr but I really don't see it being more than just doing quests or running around town. Theres no way you could do any kind of content in 1st person, even dungeons.

They specifically said the opposite actually. They have no intention of adding VR support for the game. The Titan thing they demoed previously was just a publicity thing and a showcase for VR.

For those that aren't aware, running a game in VR requires it to be rendered twice, once for each eye. It will be impossible for any existing console games to be ported to VR due to them already using the majority of the system resources. The PS4 will not be capable of rendering any existing game twice. Any future PSVR titles will have been built from the ground up especially for it.

Let's not even get into how impractical it would be to play this game in a first person perspective...

I do not care much about doing content, but i sure would love to be able to explore, walk around, and chill in VR mode.

I'm sorry but no your point doesn't still stand. You said that they had confirmed the game would have VR compatibility yet Yoshi explicitly said the opposite so your point was simply wrong...

The Titan fight demoed on PSVR was a dev build made just for that event to promote PSVR. You couldn't do much beyond look around and use a very limited number of abilities. It was a glorified tech demo. I'm also fairly certain it was running on a PC via a devkit and not an actual PS4 as the console would not be able to push the constant 60FPS required to not get motion sickness in VR.

point still stands, and can you show a source? cuz i don't see anything of him saying it wont be.

Neither do most 3DS games (or virtual boy games), but they don't really seem to have a problem with that.

I'm not sure why people think VR has to be 1st person.
