If you reread the post I mentioned:

"Without knowing who they are or the bias that may give"; I've never spoken with whomever is doing this. This was not a lie. Also, you'll also note that I said that I like to get to know people before judging them. First impressions are fine, but they won't dictate how I feel about people -- everyone here included. Though unlike most, I am trying to get to know the person who posted this. She actually gave me the link and owed up to saying some things before I invited her into my FC. How many of you have actually had an earnest conversation with anyone you have claimed to be bad?

I've have girlfriends cheat on me. I wish them the best for their future. If you have problem with someone. Block them. Tell your friends if you think a person is trouble? Maybe. Ask them to block them. But by definition, trying to inform a large amount of people and disguise it over a PSA? Posting a pastebin of it? Not only is this harassment, it is coloring you in a negative fashion. OP said she has owed up to saying some things prior to your link. But nothing she could've have said could have warranted what is occurring now. It's being blown out of proportion, when it should've been a single day of someone who has potentially be wronged saying "well, that sucked. But I'm mature enough to shrug it off."

A personality you consider abrasive and confrontational is still a personality. Can a personality be vindictive, as well? Possibly. I mean, I'm seeing ample evidence here. The cons of this feature are outweighed by the pros. FC leaders can keep an eye on grab-and-dash FC chest ninjas, catfishers (no pun intended), and other people they've had or are expecting to have problems with, individual players can keep tabs on folks they'd like to avoid without having to get the GMs involved every time, and there's a bit of accountability for bad behavior when you can't just name change and drop off the map after you've made a heel out of yourself.

I think the only thing I'd change is the activity feed for my friends list. I like my friends and all, but man, that is more information than I really need. XD

The Lodestone doesn't allow you to look up old names - it attaches each character to a permanent character number that cannot be changed.

So when you make a character on any server, the game will randomly assign that character a number (like 1234567, for example.) Your character name is attached to that number (for example "FFXIV Heavensward"). The number is unique across ALL SERVERS in the game, whereas the name is simply unique to the server you're on. There can only be one Character #1234567, but each server can have its own "FFXIV Heavensward".

Changing your name is only changing the surface aspect of this part of your account. So if you change from "FFXIV Heavensward" to "FFXIV HWPlayer" - the game still uses the numbered marker to identify you as the same character prior to the name change (as in, according to the game's data, you're still Character #1234567.) If the game didn't do this, whenever you chose to name change, the game would literally drop you from any sort of Social lists - it'd throw you off Blacklists, off Friends Lists, it's throw you out of all your Linkshells, and out of your Free Company. All because the game would have no way to remember that you're the same character from before.

Since the Lodestone is part of the game system, it uses these character numbers in order to arrange all of the character data and let it be searchable via a database. It is essential to how the game works - for the system to be modified in the way you desire is not really feasible. The Lodestone works fine.

You say you're being stalked and harassed by an individual or multiple individuals, however there are several avenues open to you to handle this besides requesting that an essential in-game system be changed. The in-game support functions are there to help you in times like this. You claim to have filed a police report but I do not see anything about you having spoken with the GMs in the game regarding the matter. It begs the question as to why? If these people were, in fact, guilty of harassing you in game as you claim, then the GMs and other members of the Support Staff would handle the situation. However, if no wrong doing is actually occurring, then they would not have recourse to punish the individuals in question.

Don't bring yo drama here, harrassment feature is in the game use it, if not leave eachother alone and everyone else out of it. If you have a case take it up with a court of law. This is the last damn place in the world you want to be judge jury and executioner.
