What if I don't WANT skills on my bar?

Wow I think peoples' logic goes backwards some days.

That's like playing any other game where you have a skill list, like Final Fantasy IX for example. "What if I don't WANT to have this ability?" The ability is there. If you don't use it, sort it so it's in the last spot. Christ sakes. You didn't have any option whatsoever when it came to FFXI for that stuff.

I like Ferth's idea and it seems to be the only way to do it as they plan on letting you add macros and item usage to the action bar, there just wouldn't be enough room, and that way you could set all your highly used abilitys and still have access to the others.

Agree with Mog here. Hopefully all the native class skills are worth having on the bar, but it would be convenient to still only be able to set what I want.

Allow us to remove skills from our bar, but leave the cost of the skill or something.

I don't enjoy a cluttered bar and I remove anything I don't need for situations, please let us do this.

I haven't read this entire thread, so forgive me if I'm missing something, but I fail to see why people are being so hostile over a request for more options. As one person already pointed out they're already going to give users the ability to customize the UI, why not let us customize what powers are and are not present on our hotkey bar. Aren't more options to accommodate the various tastes of the player base a good thing?

I'm sorry, but that analogy feels a little off base. That random website about kittens is off somewhere in cyber space out of sight and is not presented to you at all times. A more appropriate example I believe would be where you have several tabs open simultaneously on your browser and there's a kitten website you don't use. If I don't use the kitten website tab, why can't I just close the kitten website tab and pull the website up later when I need it?

Ya, I can see both sides of the argument here and agree with both of them on some level. The powers being there on the hot key do not affect me if I don't use them, so its just a matter of sliding them over somewhere to a button I never click. At the same time, I'm also a fairly anal person when it comes to setup, and this would perhaps be the first MMO I've played in some time where I couldn't freely remove something from my hot key bar if I deem it not necessary for my play style. But everything is still under development so only time will tell us what the final decision will be. I just hope its something that will please as many people as possible.
