I suppose you could just stick the crap you don't want on your third bar, but yeah... I thought the same thing when I saw this.

That accomplishes nothing, we know what skills each class has, we don't to use each one, or even look at their icons to differentiate "class identity"
just b/c i said i dont like the action bar on my screen doesnt mean im gonna AA everything >.> macros say hey
your assuming i dont want actions at all O.o
I just want to be able to remove the action bar off my screen after ive set them and just use macros its so stupid that i have to have the action bar up and on screen for Auto attack to even work

I'll admit it was a little closed-minded of me to not consider the fact players should be free to customize their bar however they please. But seriously, why gimp yourself for the sake of having clear bubbles on your bar? Completely removing actions from your arsenal without gaining anything is exactly that: gimping yourself.
Again, though, I can't stop you from having a different opinion, and I don't judge you for it. I just can't see the logic behind it.
There is literally nothing but negativity left on these forums. There will never be any pleasing the majority of you left playing this game. If FFXIV had a sewer system below it, it would be filled to the brim with the hate slime from Ghostbusters 2. We have officially created the 10th level of hell, and its full of whining, know it all, self entitled drama queens. I fail to understand how Yoshi P gets out of bed everyday to try and please a group of people that are unpleasable in any way. He says somethings black, and 50,000 people say its white just for arguments sake. The man must be a saddist.
Good luck with this group SE, if these are the people you are getting your feedback from in order to change the game, I expect to log onto version 2.0, select my character, and have the load screen brighten to show a giant middle finger while someone outside is taking a huge dump in my mailbox.

I was arguing against OP >_>Except in the case of skills, there's literally nothing gained by 'putting them in the shed'. You wouldn't get extra space to put new skills on as there is a maximum of 10 cross class skills with the new system. If you want, you can just easily put them on the 3rd bar in slots you aren't worried about pressing or whatever. Whether or not the skill slots are blank makes absolutely no difference if you're not using the skill.
Just... don't use it, either way. This entire argument is dumb because there is nothing at all gained by taking the skills of the bar.
I recall them mentioning in the recent adjustments afterwards placement would be a two step process. I would guess you could simply paste things/items(in the 2.0 screen someone had potions in a slot). over abilities you dont want actively available (for clutter reasons). That said I sorta echo what most say here, wouldnt it be better to have it somewhat out the way and available if you want to use it than completely not junction it?
Whether or not it would be better is... by the looks of this thread obviously up for debate. But why simply wanting the option to taking something off the action bar has created such a poop storm is beyond my comprehension.
Honestly, it depends on the mood I'm in. Sometimes, I look at my bar and go, "Hmmm. . . what can I put in these blank spaces? I know! Absorb Atk!" Other times, it's, "Why the hell do I have Absorb Atk set? Screw it, removing everything I don't use and just leaving blank spaces. . . "
So, yeah, maybe I could use that spell once in a blue moon. Generally speaking, though, I don't see a reason to have something equipped on my bars that I won't be using. Even if, y'know, once in a hundred fights or so I might run into a situation where it'd be useful.
Also, as to the idea of "Just move it off to bar 3 where you'll never see it," I use all three of my bars. I expect this to increase, if anything, with the new system. I'd rather have the abilities not be there (while still counting towards the limit, of course) just so I never have to worry about hitting the wrong button by mistake. This will be even more true when more than one bar is visible at a time. If I have all 3 bars up (which I will once it's possible), there will be no "bar 3 where you never see it." The advantages of having all 3 bars up outweigh the downsides, in my mind, but the scenario I'd prefer would be to have all 3 bars up with no unwanted abilities on them. . .
i'd agree with op, also being able to set the same spell multiple times on a bar is nice too. in ffxi i had a stun macro and a cure <t> macro pretty much on every row for speed. though from the looks of the 2.0 version u can put macro's into the bar ...my guess is i'll turn every move into a macro rather then just the move, even if it's just the command for the move might as well for when u want to add lines to it.
