    Anima Regeneration

    What do you think about the current anima regeneration system?

    For context, we currently get anima back at a rate of 1 anima for every 4 hours of real-life time. It would therefore take 16 and a half days to regenerate your anima supply from 0 to 100.

    That seems rather prohibitive. I wonder if other options have been discussed, such as:

    1. An accelerating system that increases the rate of anima regeneration based on the length of time anima is not used. For example, for the first 24 hours anima regenerates at a rate of 1 per 4 hours. If anima still hasn't been used, then the rate increases to 1 every 3 hours. After the next 24 hours, if anima still hasn't been used, it then regenerates at 1 anima every 2 hours, and finally after a further 24 hour period, at 1 anima every hour.

    As soon as anima is used, this cycle is reset and the 4 hour period for 1 anima starts again. Under such a system, you would replenish anima from 0 to 100 in 6 days, assuming you never use anima over that period.

    2. Abolishing anima entirely, and making teleportation a CNJ specific skill with a set cool-down period (say 15 or 20 minutes). General teleportation to crystals would still be dependent on first arriving at the crystal, and would be a spell learned at say level 20, while teleportation to specific cities/capitals would be their own specific spell learned at a later level, like 30 or 36.

    Any other thoughts?

    Although I do like your first option. I don't think SE wants to track all that info though.

    We have chocobos and airships, increased Regen isn't needed. Making it a spell just makes everyone level that class to get it. Just leave it, it is fine where it is.

    Before Airships and Chocobos I would agree it was prohibitive at 6 per day. But with the new transportation. It seems fairly good to me.

    Anima is fine with me. Before I was constantly tapped but now that we have more travel options I actually have some to go around and save time when I need to. Looking at your level, you might not have joined a Company/gotten a personal chocobo (if you have, I apologize). Once you get it your playstyle will change dramatically and getting everywhere becomes incredibly quick.

    As proven with XI census data, they would actually keep track (if they don't already) of this type of data since it's just serverside data they can easily pull up. In terms of implementation, just a simple algorithm has to be made.

    Chocobo runs you from Ul'dah to Gridania in 20 minutes. I'd say you should be using that more often.

    Edit: Although I do like that first option as well.

    I've just found a third solution: Skyrim. By the time I'm done with that, I'll be back at 100 anima!
