    Wildfire in 24-man raids!

This is a problem for many MCHs but when a boss has too many debuffs on, (I think the max is 50?) older debuffs are erased. This is usually a huge problem in the beginning of fights for MCHs because a large amount of our DPS relies on Wildfire. Often times when using Wildfire in 24-man raids, the buff is erased, causing us to lose out on a good 7-11k damage. Please give special priority to Wildfire so it can't be erased. No other job relies so much on one debuff for a chunk of their dps like MCH.

This is a problem for DoT jobs in general, both BRD and SMN have big problems with it, as fester and sidewinder both deal damage dependent on how many of the dots are on the boss, and if you can't put all of your DoTs up then these skills become much less effective.

It was said a while ago (I think in a LL when the UI guy was on) that they are working to increase the number of DoTs that a mob can take, but we haven't heard much since

    Uh, DoTs aren't erased.

What happens however, is that new DoTs cannot be applied.

The limit is 60, the max it can display is 30.

DoTs definitely get erased. I apply Wildfire at the start of a fight, then 6 seconds into it, the icon vanishes and there's no explosion animation to indicate Wildfire even went off.

I have always been told that despite the icon didnt show, the result was anyway taken into account, so your wildfire does trigger even if you dont see it.
You have an option that allows to display ONLY your debuff/effect and not the others' ones, if that may be of any help. You will then see all your applied effects all the time.

Unless something's changed that I haven't been aware of (which is very possible), I've always played with that option for the sake of tracking timers easier. Even so, there are still cases where my DoT icon won't actually show up on the boss, despite using this option to view only my own applied debuffs, DoTs, etc.

I assure you, dots don't get erased. It may not display your dot or wildfire but it's 100% there. Doesn't matter if you're a bard or summoner, that fester/sidewinder will do max damage if you can see the dot or not

So even though Wildfire's icon is erased 2 seconds before it detonates, and there's no explosion animation, it still executes? Hmm...

If you check the battle log it'll likely show you the damage it dealt.
Simply because it was pushed past the 30 visible icons doesn't mean it's not effective.

The strangest part about all this is, if you're applying something at the 31+ icon level, not only will it not show, but refreshing that dot when the target has less than 30 status effects will cause it to successfully refresh but not show an icon. Only way for it to be visible (even though it's effective either way) is to let it drop off completely and then re-apply it when there's space.

Strangely, this option should allow you to see all of the detrimental effects applied by you, but it's not always the case. Even with the other icons trimmed away, the icon limitation still seems to apply.

For example with this option on as a Ninja (showing only my detrimental effects), Mutilate or Shadow Fang won't always appear to be active on the target even if they are. It can make it pesky to re-apply them efficently.
