Hi just two simple questions hopefully the SE team can answer.

1) When will people with estates be able to upgrade or downgrade estates? Currently I have a small house that I have owned since 2.38 and would love to be able to be able to upgrade to a medium or a even a large. The only way possible to do so is to abandon my current estate and hope something opens up which currently as it stands with how limited the housing is, does not seem likely.

I'd imagine that if there was a way for a current owner to upgrade or downgrade their estate it would make the estate being left immediately available to purchase by a different person giving those looking to get an estate to a way to access this feature.

2)For all the items in the estate, would it be possible for the items instead of having to be picked up one at a time when an estate is destroyed or upgraded/downgraded, can the residential caretaker hold those items as it currently does if a house is auto-demolished?

God I would love to be able to upgrade estates! I want a medium house so bad but I'm stuck with my small now (despite finally having the money for a medium one, there just arent any available)

I hope this becomes a thing. But i doubt it. It would mean the yard would also have to get bigger? and that messes with the actual housing zone itself

Yeah with the current system I doubt upgrading will ever be a thing in terms of using the same plot. I imagine we won't hear anything about the move process until at least fanfest.

Sorry, I meant moving to a different plot. Say moving from a small plot to a large or medium plot in the same or different ward or housing area. Keep the existing plots, just when you move from one plot to the next, you get the new one while the old one is freed up for purchase.

Moving is supposed to come at or after 3.4. I didn't see a thing about it in the preliminary notes so probably 3.45

They said some time after apartments went in. We have absolutely no eta on it at this point though.

We also don't know what moving will actually imply (how much it will/won't do).

Personally I suspect it'll simply automate demolishing and buying in a single step (and all items that can be removed to the caretaker), but hopefully I'm wrong and it'll be a bit more than that/actually move airships etc...

I'm hoping it's more extensive as well. I think a lot of people waiting on it are going to be severely disappointed if it takes them this long to implement anything less than moving all rooms, furniture and airships.

I would rather they just remade the housing zones. Instead of purchasing a small, medium or large plot you just buy a plot, over time as you hit each rank you have the chance to increase the size of your house from small > medium > large. The current cost factor can be still implemented for the upgrades and also removes more gil from circulation as everyone can own a large house eventually.
