230 relic weapon with the upcoming patch

Hello, with the new tomes coming out next patch, will there be a change in how you obtain the 230 relic weapon? Currently you need 1800 eso tomes to get one oil but I read that they are taking out eso's and replacing them with lore. Will lore be the new way of farming the 230 weapon? Should I use up all my eso's before patch day? Sorry for the questions, I just can't seem to find what i'm looking for in the notes.

I have the same question. In the past it seems that when you do a seal exchange you end up getting a bit short changed. Might play it safe and just spend them.

Use up your eso before patch day.

You will be able to convert eso into lore after the patch but if previous patches are anything to go by, the ratio will be like 100 eso = 50 lore (or even less, it sucks)

After that, you'll need lore to buy the umbrite, should be 300 again.


If your planning on getting any other gear, save your tomes, stuff usually goes down to half price.

Alright thank you very much for both responses. I'm close to getting my 3rd oil right now. I may shoot for another 1800 eso's before patch day but I really don't know if I want to risk doing Aetherchemical dungeon that many times and come up short afterwords. May just play it safe and wait

The exchange rate in the past has been 4 lesser tomes for 1 greater tome. In other words, if they use the rate they have used in the past, 2000 Esoterics will get you 500 Lore.

If its just oil your after, you can get one by doing the weekly quest of clearing the first 3 raids.

5 times CT weekly quest for oil , nothing that have to change.
Use the eso to buy the stuff for the next step. You will need it.

I think they brought down prices for 2.x Relic stuff as they introduced new Tomestones... So it might not end up being 1800 Lore...
