Do you realize we are talking about design and models here? what they were used for, as or why, how they played or whoever used them or not, how many they were, and whatever doesn't matter absolutely at all.

Neither i think egis should look THAT big and be THAT detailed, but they deserve much better treatment of what we have now. Even primal minios are better detailed and would be hundred of times better than the actual egis are.

i'm only saying what they have said for explain the current egi, that it will be a bother to have this big egi and will cause lag/framerate trouble.

Ugh.. I don't mean to be rude to those who play & that like SMN (If you can call it that), but I can't help but cringe at the fact that people are happy for glams instead of actually Egi's. It will change there looks and special effects but the abilities will be the exact same.. *sigh*

Yep, i don't get why everyone make it sound as if these egis glamours would be such massive game changer that they MUST be added yesterday...

Well think about it like this. It's either this pet glamour or nothing, because the devs don't want to do anything to the pets outside of buff/debuffing them. I even doubt that they are going to add new abilities to the pets.

Because the devs have already said they're never going to add new egis.

So, we can either whine about that forever, and they will never do anything about it, or we can be happy they are acquiescing to at least a cosmetic variation for the egis that we do have.

Maybe they will notice the continued discontent with "Summoner", and maybe someday they will make it feel more satisfying for that title, but for now I'm happy with something over nothing.

I would be fine with nothing because it means that instead of allocating ressources to make the egi glamours, they could use them to try to circumvent that " new egis would be too hard to balance" issue which would surely be much better than still having the same 3 for the rest of the game lifespan.

Except that it would likely be two entirely different teams handling such things. Not getting one thing doesn't automatically mean we get something else.

Wow, some people decided that this thread giving some hope for variety of our egis via glamour would be a perfect place to set up their little soapboxes to tell people to stop being excited or never be excited until SMN pets meet their unrealistic expectations because they disagree with how the devs should be designing their own game.

Wanting "more detailed egis" is fine and all, we all do. But what a lot of us also want is variety, especially this far into SMN's lifespan in XIV. Yes, egi glamour technically isn't anything new in the way of gameplay, but most of us understand that egi glamour is the compromise the devs have been willing to make so that SMNs have some semblance of variety of summons that Summoners have across the Final Fantasy series; especially since we have primals like Shiva, Leviathan, and Ramuh starring us right in the face.

To the people thumbing their noses at those relieved to finally see something, anything about the egi glamours instead of redone/redesigned egis; you're a lot like those people on these forums that are known to snub FFXIV constantly while preaching "you all could've had FFXI-2, but are content with this instead..."

To the people who feel like chiming in with their "ugh, this again? Stop asking for egi glamours! Waste of resources!" mentalities- Personally, I'm tired of people asking for Vierra as a new race. I'm tired of housing threads. I'm tired of unrealistic mount and single-job glamour perk threads. I'm tired of some harcore raiders claiming their demographic will single-handedly carry the population or something and I'm tired of the Feast PvP drama threads, amongst many, many others. Yet for the most part I don't feel the need to drop in those threads and tell everyone they are wrong for asking and that everything they are asking for is a waste of "resources." So instead of adding literally nothing at all to this thread, consider that the devs more or less promised SMNs egi glamours of the other summons (and Carbuncle) after they pulled the rug from underneath SMNs about not getting new egis in 3.0 like initially quoted, and players happen to like an update on the progress of it every once in a while, unlike some other things on these forums that get asked over-and-over with no positive dev input *cough*Vierra*cough*
