    nothing wrong with taking 3 months off right? I mean the 3 month grind to get relic to 250 will probably take 2 days when 3.48 or 3.5 comes out, i mean the devs clearly think its ok to take a long break, cause everything will be handed to you as soon as you log back in, mostly. i guess.

    New players won't have a "hard time", they'll slowly learn while gathering levels.     even if they change the system , u will still come here cry that ur bored everytime so whats the point in changing the system :P

    id rather have new dungeons and stuff every 3 months :P

    weve decided to rework lords of verminion this patch, here some new level 1 mastercrafter glamours to craft for exhorbitant amounts of gil, old dungeon(hard) mode and a ex primal to beat around for 3 months. Feel free to unsub after you clear it in a week, as we got no new gear for 6 months thats relevamt! Please look forward to it!

    Imagine this :
    ARR comes, the tomestone system is introduced, it's new (for this game, coming from 1.0), it's fresh. 2 years later, I'm starting to get bored...and then HW comes, with a whole new gearing system. It's fresh, it's new...2 years later, I'm starting to get bored, and then the new expansion come, etc...etc...

    Instead, we have ARR with the tome system, boring after 2 years...HW with the same system, incredibly boring after 2 more years...and the next expansion will probably still use the tomestone system.

    A new gearing system is like having new zones or new jobs. I'm sure you would have been bored if HW made you stroll into the same old zones for 2 more years.

    Horizontal progression is not a "catch up" mechanic. Let's say you needed an Ice weapon for Gordias Savage(For whatever reason)...but this NEW Fire Weapon for Midas Savage...Wether you participate in Gordias or not, you can obtain the Fire Weapon and completely skip the Ice Weapon. And while you're bored 3.2, you can always comes back to get this Ice Weapon that could be useful for Creator or even the next raid.

    As we are now, you need this Fire Weapon (i.e new tome gear), but you'll never go back to the Ice weapon even if you have nothing new to do.

    He definitely makes some valid points. I agree and could definitely see how creating mechanics which are more difficcult to catcch up with could ruin this game. Want to join Savage runs? Sorry, but you haven't been playing 8 hours everyday for the last 3 years, you are simply underleveled.
