I started off playing just Black Mage because I always go for the magic-caster in these games, and I'm certainly not the healing type. Then I went to give Dragoon a shot since it's iconic and I love the dragon-theme. Tried out Ninja too when it came out because, hell, everyone did! Then I went outside my comfort zone when Heavensward hit and gave Tanking a try with Dark Knight. Eventually something just snapped in my head and I wound up playing and leveling all the classes, and found myself loving all of them in one way or another as I got used to the full range of skills.

    Except Scholar.
I don't much care for Scholar.

Chose Dragoon out of loyalty of it being my Favorite Final Fantasy class in the series and playing it in this game made it my favorite incarnation.

I felt like the characters during my class quest were really speaking to me on a level I'd never seen before in an MMO

I started as a Warrior, because I love Axes, but I just can't stand the responsibility of being a Tank, so I decided to find a DPS that is similar to a Tank, but without the responsibility and ended up with Dragoon. It is lots of fun to play and enjoy every second of it. I play Warrior only when friends need a Tank, but I just stick to Dragoon. The weapon itself is kind of boring, but the play style is more to my liking. Plus I like stunning things and I got 2 stunners. Ninja is also fun, but still learning how to play it. I tried Dark Knight, but it's complicated, but I love it's look.

I love swords and I used to love DPS, so i was very frustrated when I see that the only sword class in the game was a tanker (I stated to play in ARR).

But my love for sword class are bigger than DPS, so I tried to tank, and for my surprise, I loved to tank in the game.

But the PLD has a problem, they use shield, and I don't like shield very much. T^T.

That is why I isnta-love DRK job. A sword class without shield, and already liking to tank a lot, DRK became my main class when HW come out. ^^

I haven't found my favorite job yet. I tried dragoon, but I didn't like how they played at level 60. I've tried bard since then, and while I enjoy the job a lot, I still feel like it's not really for me. I think part of the reason is that I feel incompetent as a bard. I like the support aspect, but I feel like my "rotation" is all over the place, and that I drag the rest of the group down because of it. I've been considering trying a healer at 60 next... But every time I think about it, I wonder if I'd really be any better at it or if I'd just cause wipes, l-lol.

I chose arcanist out of wanting to solo some content. I started with summoner but found out I could get a healer with level 15 conjurer.

Scholar was perfect because the fairy covers my healing mostly, and I'm free to DPS in content. I dislike classes that can't heal themself and die easily like THM.

BF who played during 1.0 told me I'd like WAR, turned out he was right. Was a little disappointed when I got to end game (this was in original 2.0), but stuck it through and thankfully the changes in 2.1 made the job even better (though I do miss 300% IB).

Regarding why I like it: It's just a ton of fun. I really enjoy the stack mechanic in difficult fights since it isn't as simple as [FELL CLEAVE BOT ENGAGED] and I feel like WAR is one of those jobs that really meshes well with the battle system. MNK is in a similar position for me, but I just really enjoy WAR's playstyle in the harder stuff.

Started with SMN, but when DRK came out the story was so captivating that I knew this was the class for me. SMN is still my main Dps class, but DRK will be my main job

Originally, I wanted to be an Archer that is just a ranged DPS, so you could imagine my annoyance when the related job was Bard (To the point where I refused to use the job crystal until I absolutely had to). Then when Rogue/Ninja came out, originally I just wanted to try it. But with it containing multiple things I liked (Duel wielding, a bit of magic with Mudras, some ranged skills), it's now my favorite Job. I may switch to other jobs from time to time, but I always go back to NIN at the end of the day.
